Updated the old Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 to the new and improved Hankook Dynapro AT2 RF11 (just put some on my mother’s Honda Pilot, ride great so far, noticeable improvement over the old ATM).

Coincidently deciding on which tires to get in 265/70-18 for the incoming 2016 Tundra…

Go with the Falkens like my old Tundra, or the Toyo Open Country AT III like the wife’s 4Runner…. Give something else a shot?

    We shall see before winter

This is great information. One thing I would like to add to give people a better understanding about 3PMSF tire rating is that the test is a self certifying test in the USA. What I mean by that is that there is no governing body indepenently testing these tires to make sure that they do in fact achieve 3PMSF and it is up to the tire companies to test and be honest. So just because it has the marking doesnt mean that it achieves the winter performance. In Canada they have "Transport Canada" who tests tires to make sure that it achieves the level of snow performance required to achieve 3PMSF. If the tire is sold in Canada with 3PMSF chances are that the US version also meets the same performance.

That's solid info to know about the Canadian authorities approving the symbol. Good info, thank you.

I always just compare reviews between the top choices in whatever size I need and whichever performs better at what I need I get ha.

Same. Thanks for the info. In Colorado, you’ll get a ticket during winter (in the high country) if you don’t have these tires. They never enforce the law but still I’d like to know the law has stats to back it up. Seems Canada is light years away from us with winter tires!!

I know I've gotten out of putting chains on in Cali back in the day for having 3PMSF tires.

Hercules X-Venture is 3PMSF rated. I'm looking at the 255/75r17. Cant find a weight listed for them. Anyone running them on here?

    Adding it now, thanks!

Such a great tire size, unfortunately no experience with that specific tire here.
Let us know how it goes!

After two winters here on the same set of Geolander G015's I did something really stupid. I tried to bury my TRD OR in 19" of snow at work (had the equipment handy to pull out). In 4 wheel drive, but not using any of the 'special' features the OR's have, I could not get stuck. Yes I had wheel spin. Yes I had to 'claw' my way out. But I could not get stuck. Yokohama Geolanders in the stock size 265/70R16 SL rated for the win.

This is good feedback to know!

Debating on my next set for the Tundra.

    Thanks! :)
