Laptop came prebundled with W10. It has a digital license key. Hard drive has hidden partitions that allow reinstall, but it reinstalls with Asus prebundled software.

How can I do a clean OEM W10 install where none of the Asus stuff is installed without buying a new W10 license?

Download the win 10 installer from Microsoft. The W10 digital license is linked to the computer hardware and wont need a new one if your current one is activated

Do you know how to make a bootable USB? If not, I can walk you through it. You only need a usb drive with 16gigs or less of space. I can send the you the files to make it a bootable drive for Windows 10.

It would be a clean version of Windows, no bloatware crap with it. I use it for my work allllllllll the time when I wipe laptops.

You can also use PowerShell to remove bloatware. It's kind of easy, if you're technically inclinded: https://christitus.com/debloat-windows-10-2020/

I always download the windows ISO from Microsoft, make a bootable usb with Rufus and delete all those partitions during install and let windows create what it needs for a basic bitch install. Windows will recognize your hardware and authenticate automatically. It might ask for a key during install but give you the option to skip it.

I used to use Rufus, but the last few times I made bootable USB's, I went old school....command line all the way.

Nice. I wasn’t smart enough for all that when I was in tech. I was just a tech monkey. Google that shit, bang on the keys and bam, Bob’s your uncle haha

I worked in a school system and would do clean installs on hundreds of laptops every summer. Got good with clonezilla with local servers and an image made for each laptop model, but the infrastructure wasn’t good enough to do it over the network. It beat doing one clone at a time for sure though.

It's so easy, even a 2nd gen owner can do it!

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server-essentials/install/create-a-bootable-usb-flash-drive

To create a bootable USB flash drive
    1. Insert a USB flash drive into a running computer.

    2. Open a Command Prompt window as an administrator.

    3. Type diskpart.

    4. In the new command line window that opens, to determine the USB flash drive number or drive letter, at the command prompt, type list disk, and then click ENTER. The list disk command displays all the disks on the computer. Note the drive number or drive letter of the USB flash drive.

    5. At the command prompt, type select disk <X>, where X is the drive number or drive letter of the USB flash drive, and then click ENTER.

    6. Type clean, and the click ENTER. This command deletes all data from the USB flash drive.

    7. To create a new primary partition on the USB flash drive, type create partition primary, and then click ENTER.

    8. To select the partition that you just created, type select partition 1, and then click ENTER.

    9. To format the partition, type format fs=ntfs quick, and then click ENTER.

      Important

If your server platform supports Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), you should format the USB flash drive as FAT32 rather than as NTFS. To format the partition as FAT32, type format fs=fat32 quick, and then click ENTER.

    10. Type active, and then click ENTER.

    11. Type exit, and then click ENTER.

    12. When you finish preparing your custom image, save it to the root of the USB flash drive.
