Is this a good price for a CPO?

Been looking for a new one but haven’t had any luck but found a 2021 double cab 4x4 trd off road fully loaded with 6K miles. It comes with off road premium package, led, advanced tech, tonneau cover and some other accessories. Listed price is 44K which is roughly 1500 below msrp. I could negotiate the price or ask them to throw in the trd lift kit. What do you think is a good out the door price?

Buy a new one for that price. You will get a better interest rate too.

"Depends" - my CU considers anything 2021 and newer as "new" and it's the same rate. I'd recommend checking with your lender to see.

In general people will get a better rate on brand new. Sure there out outliers. Op could be paying cash too, or have medic ore credit where he's going to have a higher interest rate regardless.

at 44k, buying new is a no brainer. Plus you have to wonder why someone got ride of the truck with only 6k on it? Or maybe it was a service loaner, maybe it had issues etc..

Easier said than done. I've been reaching out to dealers nationwide everywhere and they don't have the army green OR and it's being discontinued in 2023. The clock is ticking. I started with the dealers that sell at msrp and then expanded my search with no luck. Besides, it's gonna be tough to get a brand new one with all those packages at that price. MSRP is around 46K.

Getting a bad deal is not worth the army green color. paying 44k for a 2 year old truck is going to put you upside down on the loan. Market is cooling down on these trucks. Plus why is the truck on the lot with 6k miles? What was the history?

Is 44K a bad deal? It's actually within the middle KBB value range. I can find out about the history but if there were any issues, it would have been fixed during certification inspection. I wouldn't buy non CPO though.

You’ll be fine buying like that. If it’s what you want, no justification needed. There are people out there who buy a vehicle and just realize after some use they aren’t as happy with it as possible. If the cu will give you the same interest rate as brand new then go for it. I didn’t get the LEDs and paid nearly the same price. My ‘21 which was built in August and sold to me off of the truck and through PMI already has 21,xxx on it. And the Tacoma market is not going to cool down for at least another year as long as China keeps locking up entire cities due to Covid. We are only in the middle of the supply chain problem. I see it running clear into the ‘24 ym before everything is finally smoothed out.

44k for a 2 year old truck is a bad deal when you can buy a new one for the same price...Seems like your mind is made up anyway.

Do you have the dealer listing for the truck?

The Tacoma market is cooling down. Look online at prices.

    Oh look, another mod....

The real question you should be asking is: Should I take financial advice from a bunch of strangers from the internet?
    Answer: NO.

We do not know your full financial situation or all the details of the truck and the market that it is in. Some area's price Tacoma's higher than others. There are many factors that go into a purchasing decision.

Find me a new one with the same packages for 44K and ill take it. No, for some reason the listing isn't showing but I called them and it's still available.

If youre stuck on AG and OR, then go ahead.
If you can expand your search criteria a little, then dont.
I wanted AG too, but if I felt "rushed" to get one, Id seriously reconsider my color choice.
Dont want to have a woulda, coulda, shoulda moment looking back...

Honestly, it sounds like you have already made up your mind and are looking for validation.
And getting defensive when youre not getting it...

Does the 2021 CPO have the Toyota extended warranty to 100K miles? There have been enough 3.5L engines having issues between 60K-85K miles for that to be of value.

Around here, used are selling for more than new MSRP because they are available. New Tacomas are still sold before they hit the lot for $2K - $10K market adjustments.

Only reason I feel rushed is because AG is being discontinued and feel like the 2022 model window is closing.

Paying a new price for a 2 year old truck is not financially smart. Period. Sorry OP doesn't like my answer but I'm not wrong.
