This how I carry eggs when offroading ..the bag of eggs you see lasted 1750 mile of road and offroad mostly forest roads over a 10 day period ... I use pine shavings from chicken coop in a plastic bag ... give it a try on the trail

why not just keep them in the styrofoam egg container from the store. If you put it inside a cooler, it seems it would work better than a hard plastic container.:quickdraw:

    One might think that.

I’ve had cooler water slosh open the foam container, remove the eggs , close the container , and then crush all the eggs. Yuck. Trails weren’t super serious either.

I just crack them into a water bottle now.

I can't see how eggs in a bag is any better than in a container designed for transporting eggs but hey...go for it.

I use a plastic egg carton or just crack them at home and put them in a jar.

I've started just cracking them at home, put them in wide mouth sealable container (mason jar, nalgene, whatever) and throw it in the cooler. I am going to be breaking them when cooking, I figure might as well break them at home put them in the cooler, and never worry about cooler egg-water ever again. 9 out of 10 times yokes stay intact and pouring them out for regular fried eggs is pretty easy. If you want scrambled eggs its even easier, put some milk in there ahead of time and just shake them up.

or just crack them before trip and drop the egg in one of these and keep it in a fridge or ice chest.

Those a great way to end up with a dozen eggs worth of goo in the bottom of your fridge over rough roads (learned the hard way).

The bottle storage method is def the superior way! Never going back to lesser methods.

Again just sharing a tip from experience...carry your eggs anyway you want .I disagree with your OPINION on egg carrying ..I can hard boil my eggs at any point during my trip ..can't do that with your INFERIOR way of storing eggs...

Just wait til this thread becomes 1400 replies deep. It could happen.

And yeah, nothing wrong with how you carried your eggs. whatever works for peeps. Did it float in the ice/water of your cooler helping to keep it out of harms way?

You’re taking other peoples options for carrying eggs awfully personally.

Sir, I say it's your fridge/cooler that's lacking in proper off-road suspension if your food is knocking.

I might have to try the bottle method. Not because any of you are right though. For my own reasons.
