5100 Bilstein / OME 885 / Headstrong Offroad 3 Leaf Progressive

    Living in Colorado as an avid outdoorsman my driving is 95% highway / streets and 5% forest roads. The goal of my suspension lift was to provide a better quality ride, more clearance, somewhat level, and without breaking the bank. This goal was accomplished with the following:

    265/75/16 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W (E Load, I do not recommend the E Load, stiff) (no trimming)

    Total Lift: 1.75" in the front, 1.5” in the rear (as advertised)

    22 7/8” (Center Hub to Bottom Fender Flare)

    - 5100 Bilstein all the way around (lowest setting due to having the coils provide the lift) - ($500) (next step up are 6112 / 5160 and im not doing any hard off-roading)
    - Headstrong 1.5" 3 Leaf AAL (1.50”) - ($250) (better than only 1 leaf)
    - Took out the overload leaf (for a softer ride, kept in case it sags later on or plan to do any towing)
    - Old Man Emu 2885 (1.75") - ($210) (no steel or aftermarket bumper in my future)
    - Wheelers Front & Rear Superbump Bumpstop Set - ($300) (look at a youtube video, performance and isolating damage)
    - Wheelers 1/2" top plate spacer - ($25) (taco lean)


    - Trailgear 2005+ Driveshaft Spacer Kit - ($20) (not used, due to no vibrations, may still install for better angle)
    - No UCA needed (this was the goal)
    - No vibrations

    Total = ~ $1300

    The ride quality is amazing already. The new suspension comes out of bumps so much smoother and does not have any sway. The wheelers bumpstops on the front and rear, I am sure have some influence which are totally worth it. I have not bottomed out due to these...yet. The 3 leaf vs. 1 leaf has been a huge benefit IMO. Overall, this is an easy install and will last me a great while providing me the ride quality I was expecting.

    If you have any questions about the process or anything I did please let me know. I tried to include my reasons on WHY I went with the things I went with so hopefully it helps others make a decision. IMO for the type of driving and off-roading I do this is no more or less than what I NEED.

    Following, have 5100s all around and icon 1.5” aal pack in the rear with the front 5100s on the 2nd setting. Thinking of doing the 885 springs on the bottoms setting but concerned about the stance/rake especially after the coils settle.

    I love the look of that. mine is sitting a bit high for my tastes. My bilsteins are maxed out. Looks like maybe you've got an inch less than I do? Dropping mine an inch and changing the rim to a 16" seems about right.

    I should be able to get photos posted within the week. It has been snowing here in Colorado. As of right now, they have been installed for over a week with over 500 miles of driving. They should have settled by now, and looks very even.

    Looks good. What tire were you running before the lift and what was your before and after mpg?

    Stock 18’ tires. 17” Rims. Did not see a change in MPG.

    Considering the Subtle Viper Cut next. My only concerns are water. Sounds like those who do not cut the liner and use zip ties to close the opening have not had any issues. Anyone with any experience on the Viper Cut?

    The subtle look I am going for was achieved by “Offthegrind” in one of his videos. Looks very good although he cut the liner.

    I’llbe doing a viper cut also, my 285’s are rubbing the front fender liner, until warmer weather when I can get the 885s in the front. I would also want to keep the liner, as I also want to reinstall my RG mudflaps to prevent kick up into the rear of the fender liner.

    Truck looks great man. Any more pics? I'm looking into the same setup for the front, 5100's and 885's. How's the front feel compared to the stock OR setup? Heard some varying opinions on the 885's.

    I'm sure I'm asking a question that has been answered but can't seem to find it . I'm running 5100 standerd length shocks (0-1") in the rear am I fine to add a HS 1.5AAL? Don't want to over extend.
