This is for turd gens but might be applicable here too. Might be off headlights or some other light-ish related fuse. If both are down at the same time, points to a fuse or switch problem. Signals might be on a different circuit.

You can get one of these and just hit a bunch of fuses.

Everything else work? Headlights (hi and low), running lights, brake lights, interior lights? Is this a recent and sudden thing or has it been going on for a while? If recent and sudden, any electrical changes made recently that coincide with the timing?

Question for all of you more knowledgeable than I: slowly starting to chip away at mounting an arb twin, went to run the switch into the engine bay and get it wired in and I found that the 2 fuses I was gonna tap for ACC and light for the switch...were already tapped and running underneath the seat? Any idea what this would be for? Definitely not factory, the previous owner didn't have much going on in the way of mods but I suspect had a shell at least. The other question is, do the switches ARB provide fit in the panel down by my left leg or do I have to source something else? I'm leaning towards no they don't but I have been known to be wrong :anonymous:

I'm not sure how the DRL's are activated on the Tacoma. Do you have a manual or auto? Could be something with the parking brake switch also. I believe if you depress the parking brake, the DRL circuit becomes inactive. If you have a manual or use your parking brake frequently, that could be a potential culprit.

That's some aftermarket bullshit you got going on there for sure! Only way to know for sure is to chase the wires and see what they dead end into. If they physically go into the seat (hard to tell from the last photo under the seat), you may have seat heaters wired in at one point. Chase them down and see what happens. You could also remove the add-a-fuse, plug just the fuse in and see if anything changes. Do you have seat heaters or lights in the center console compartment?

If the '16's are like my old 2007, the switch blanks are intended to have something OEM inserted and are indexed to only receive that gadget or gizmo. In order to make the other switches, like an OTRATTW switch which is what that switch looks to be, I had to route out the receiver splines to make it an actual rectangular opening. If you pop out one of the blanks, you'll see what I mean.

Truck does have heated seats, but I was under the impression they were factory...I also have 12v in the glove box as well. I'll happily give up that outlet if I get to keep my ass warm in the winter, I can't go back now :bananadead: I popped the blank and it looks like it'll fit if I gut the inner plastic out?

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. I fit an OTRATTW switch into those blanks when I had my '07 and I had to gut out the inner plastic to slide them in. When I traded the truck, I was still able to pop out the switches and throw the blanks back in like nothing was ever there. I used a Dremel and just went slowly.

The heated seats very well may be OEM. The wiring is in the same general direction and location as the ones I added when I put heated seats in my truck (not a Tacoma BTW). With aftermarket wiring though, only way to find out is to chase it. You could pop the add-a-fuse, put the regular fuse back in it's spot and see if your heated seats still work, that may narrow down the search pretty quick.

Yeah im thinking I'll pop it and see what stops working, or maybe I'll get lucky and its something the previous owner took out and now I've got 2 free taps :notsure:

If you just pop the top fuse, that should do the trick. I bet it's still attached to something, otherwise I'd imagine you'd have other issues with loose, hot wires in the vehicle.

Snowmobiling towns are like that too. I hear that quite often when we go to Rangeley Maine.

A TW youtube channel that's not about Tacomas? Nope I've never seen any.

I don't think any of these have 12V in the glove boxes, so chances are one of those is for that.

One problem - and I ran into this. There was an open circuit for the sunroof that I tapped into (I don't have a sunroof, but the fuse circuit was hot). So, that circuit may be useless for the truck.

Seat is 4 14mm bolts, and you can leave them plugged in to tilt them back. Unbolt them and tilt them back to trace them wires! Hell now you got me curious on what those run to if they aren't seat heaters.

...What about center console, do you have any extra 12V or USBs in there?

Just use one of the taps for the switch panel and wire one of the seats to it. Drivers. That way the passenger doesn't have to ask you for heated seats.

This is the one I have. One of the slots is dedicated to the backlight, there's no auto or dedicated switch so I just made one into the backlight level button. Works well.

Does it come with a mounting bracket? Might just spend the extra couple bucks for the auxbeam one if not, that's a good idea for getting ACC too...
