What up everyone, I have a 1997 Regular cab Tacoma 4x4 v6 with manual locking hubs and am trying to find a place for a hub and bearing kit other than rock auto since i had some issues with them , I was just wondering if any of you folks have a place you would recommend, Thanks John

For something like that I would go OEM at the dealer, big money but much better parts.

The manual hubs are extremely hard to come by these days it seems.

    Kits?...

What exactly are you looking for?

They're easy to rebuild, rebuilt plenty myself.

Parts like gaskets, o-rings, and small things like detent springs and whatnot are easily and readily available.

I have bought new manual hubs as well and Rockauto had the best pricing last I checked.

Don't forget the promo/discount code found in this forum.

As for bearing....are you talking about wheel bearings? Those need to be pressed in/out.

Koyo is the way to go.

Yes i need the hub and bearing it's got a good Humm to it . i seen the durago 29596145 kit i know rock auto carry's them but had some issues in the past with shipping me the wrong parts not sure if they got any better, As for OEM i think it would exceed the valve of the truck LOL Shes a beater i bought it like 4 or 5 years ago has a 6' FABTECH LIFT was rolled side was pounded out but for $1500 bucks i use it for deer season mostly had to weld the frame twice on both sides, its rough but runs,

Yeah see hubs and bearings are...well attached to the front end but separate assemblies which is why it could get confusing.

I would recommend either Timkin or Koyo bearings; not just me but any Toyota owner that's worked on their own truck really.

As for the manual hubs, just rebuild them when you take them apart. Get new gaskets and o-rings.

Quality grease for the innards and a nice lubricant for the o-ring. Won't hurt getting the hub face and dial media blasted and painted for a new look either.

Wheel bearing is the same whether the vehicle has ADD (the setup you have pictured above) or manual hub (like your current setup).

The wheel hub itself, is different again as I described.

You just need a wheel hub meant for manual hubs; only the ADD setup uses a nut at the end.

@Abeyancer bought one not long ago?

What's wrong with yours that needs replacing?

You do need to press it out when replacing the wheel bearing, but you would normally reuse the wheel hub itself.

What’s wrong with your current hub that you need to replace it too? Usually you just do the bearing and reuse the hub. I’ve been using rockauto for 15+ years with no issues as long as I made sure I ordered the right part

Thought I attached a picture in my post

They do carry it, but again there's no real need to replace it as I mentioned before.

Plus I don't know if I'd trust a brand I've never heard of.

As for the Aisin hubs themselves, they're still available at a pretty low price - More Information for AISIN FHT019 (rockauto.com)

I was under the impression that pressing out the hub would mess up the brass looking end thats the reason i was saying a hub and bearing,

If you press it out correctly/carefully you won’t hurt the brass
