So just did a head gasket job on the ol' Tacoma. Went to fill it up with coolant and after about 1.5 gallons it started pouring out the rear. I can only assume that I messed up the installing the rear head cover. I am pretty sure I said all the curse words I know trying to get that installed.

Any tips or tricks that would help?

I'm thinking of putting a thin layer of RTV to help hold the gasket in place.

    Hurmph!

    Thank you for your assistance.

Edit: follow up question. Any reason why I couldn't install 2" x 6(?)mm studs. Seems like that would make installing a lot easier.
