Because if I teabag a person who breaks into my home in the middle of the night, I'll end up on a registry and have to pay for counseling.

    To be fair,

    You’re already on a registry.

Between this: https://apple.news/AkRI9gdZ_QKCvraYjEpaGGQ ,NICS, and whatever other hoops you may have jump through, like form 1s, security clearances, or FFLs held.

Don't get me wrong I think guns are awesome but it just seems like the people that buy them just look at them and talk about them all the time but don't use them. Seems like an expensive hobby. I will say hunting is different though. I just prefer hand to hand combat and jiujitsu because I can practice them for free

I feel the same way about car enthusiasts.

…but if you tried to nitjitsu someone with a gun, you’ll more likely be Indiana Jones’d.

I wouldn’t base your opinion on gun owners habits strictly on members of truck forums conversations.

    Yes:
    -It can be expensive.
-Not everyone is “serious.” As a matter of fact most aren’t, then they get mad at people who are, and call them elitist. Some guys act like elitist while eating their fries off their fat boy titties because… you know…the internet.

There are various nuisances, disciplines and purposes, ranging anywhere from plinking soda cans because it fun, to war. There are more to guns then hunting. Like it’s necessity to the security of a free state. Matter of fact, hunters are sometimes the worst. They breakout the old 270, check their 7 inch zero at 200-300y, do their thing for the season and don’t touch that rifle again until the next year. It be was it is.

Yes, a lot of other guys just buy guns and take them out everyone once in awhile. No, I don’t know why, and it’s not my problem how they spend their money for the same reason people buy spacer lifts.

Jujitsu is cool, you’re not going to want to be on your back in the real world. There are no rules in baseball. I mean survival.

Marksmanship is a martial art, in the truest sense of the term.

Is jujitsu really free? You doing some backyard jujitsu with your buddy? Otherwise I’d wager you’re still paying for a gym membership and training - That’s far from free. Probably along similar lines to a range membership and some ammo each month.

Everybody has different hobbies and most aren’t cheap. Shooting is definitely not cheap but millions of folks enjoy it.

I'd have to respectfully disagree. In martial arts, it's far from free. You pay with the pain of your training your body and life time to dedicate to the arts. If you're a US citizen, it's your right to practice (or not) bearing arms and practice martial arts. In some countries, you only have one choice and criminals don't care about your jiujitsu or karate; they only care about crazy.

Everyone can have their hobbies and I’m not bashing yours, just want to understand the “why” a bit more.

Jiujitsu gym memberships definitely have a fee, but you could still do it free if you wanted to. And if you think jiujitsu just takes place on your back or on the ground, then I’d assume you’ve never done a class. I’d recommend everyone try it at least once.

Don’t get me wrong, I myself try to insert my unsolicited opinions on things I don’t appreciate so I can tell people that I am into “hand to hand combat and jujitsu”. LOL

Go with friends who like to shoot, you may or may not like it. Then you may be able to get closer to the “why”. If you don’t, that’s okay, too. It’s not for everybody.

If you’re trying to have an extended conversation on the topic maybe you should start your own thread instead of clogging up the “what have you purchased today” thread.

my short answer to why is because it’s fun and I can.

now back on topic I grabbed some more bulk 22 the other day since I’ve been shooting the crap out of my 22s after picking up my can a few weeks ago. Also grabbed a tandemkross trigger kit to try in my mkiv.

I think 2010 or 2011 was the last time a semi was added to the list. But worse than that, the law states 2 guns must be removed from the list for every one added...

On that note, finally got my holsters in. Gonna try appendix carry for the first time...
