New bumper is on and trans cooler dialed in. Bumper is sitting a tad low right now. Trans cooler mounts need to be adjusted so I can pull up the bumper 1/2” or so.



Helped my buddy Ben firm overland trail guides last weekend at Pure 4x4 Basecamp 4.0

 

Swapped out the Wilwood Aero calipers for Stoptech to match the rears. need some breaking in. I was digging the willwood/stoptech combo.

New Stoptechs also have new 2 Piece rotors. Hope lighter setup helps some.

No wheeling yet but took a trip to Tahoe and overall felt good. I did notice the brakes faded on a bunch of hills. I have it some heavy braking to bed then in a gain and after 6-7 it’s started to fade. I have been running Original ATW 200 l for as long as I can remember. Current fluid is OEM spec. May swap back to a higher heat fluid but will see how it pans out. Main worry is the extra heavy weight adds the extra and boils the fluid early. Backing plates were removed on the front but may add new ones back.

New Rotors, Calipers, Hawk Pass, new fluid, new SS lines

 

Swapped in the RIPP coil packs and new Ruth spark plugs. Wiring harness was jammed so we had to pull the blower. Gave us a chance to install HOS heater hoses, clean throttle body, update to the @mightytacoman larger S/C resi and pull some deal out of the back to get better throttle response (forgot what’s it’s called). not the planned work but back in action and running well.

 

Ah won’t let me add Video but scored a rare occupancy sensor setup that metal tech used to sell. Toss it in the pass get side so the side airbags work. I had a different method that should be okay but had an issue not working all the time. Love the switch to disable if needed.

Occupancy sensor works well but has a specific order. You need to turn it on before you clip in the seat belt. If already clipped in the sensor will not arm the airbags. Makes sense but threw me off at first.

 

Small mod I came across for Tundras that also works for Tacomas the site now sells a Tacoma set.

auto up and down for windows on all 4 from the drivers side and up/down for the passenger side. (Use at your own risk since we don’t have pinch protection). Added a quick video on the install (it’s a 2-5 minute job) my drivers side cable was short so I removed the panel but is possible to do without. All depends on your truck. only supports 12-15 Tacoma right now. They are looking into earlier. Also supports up/down in rear from the drivers side but there are currently no supported rear switches.

Quick weekend trip to the mountains. Lost brakes at the top of that mountain. Seems to be banjo bolt hit a bypass and came loose and possibly bent. Was able to tighten enough to get home. Some air but didn’t loose too much fluid.

 

Back In July headed out and started in Black Rock desert some with some hot springs and finished back in Tahoe in the woods and a lakes. Trans cooler did great with the hot weather. Engine still gets hot. Passing 210 the A/C can’t hang. Probably time to get my E-Fan setup finally done. Also lost a fender flare. Sigh…

 

SOS performance sent some spares. 2 are machined shorter to help with clearance.

 

Still need to swap out the banjo bolts on the truck but while I procrastinate I added some Spike Performance hood Louvers.

URD 70mm - 76mm adapter and 76mm Tab arrived. Plan to mount it now and port it later on to match the S/C.

installed more of the interior. Kept it OEM for now so we can have some lights for some upcoming trips.

installed the Tacoma twins rear Molle along with some rear Clazzio covers to go with the front seats. Not a perfect match but low cost for the overall look and feel. Added my rear Molle Panel back in. Still needs to painted but is covered so less of a priority. Will have the Clazzio fronts for sale BNIB never fitted.

Almost complete view. Tempted to try and fit the S5 rear seats.

 

Finally put on some tint to help on the summer and winter trips. Always something I said I will do it tomorrow but never did. Stopped into check out the tint and he said he could fit me in after the vehicle he was working in. Score!

used Llumar IRX IR nano ceramic tint. 35 up front and 25 in the rear over the stock tinted glass.
