Like the title says, what do you guys think of this rig? What would you pay for it? Looks pretty clean for the age. And from what I can see in the pics it looks like most of the mods have been done tastefully, wires routed cleanly, etc.

Still even with everything on it $13,250 seems high. Maybe Im just out of the loop on the older market?

What are you willing to pay for this?

Is it worth what they are asking is up to you and any other potential buyers. This is kind of a niche, most people are not avid off-roaders so there is no need for all the extra stuff. For someone who wants to be an avid off-roader but doesn't know where to start this might be a good vehicle, again for the price they want to pay. Off road conversion vans were a thing in the 60s, 70s and 80s and fell off a little bit and now they are very cool again for some. Not everyone has the same tastes or wants so its up to the buyers in the market to determine the price on used unique vehicles.

FWIW I wouldn't pay that much it; I don't off-road anymore so there is no value in this 4runner with these modifications for me personally. If it had the 3rd row of seats and didn't have all the off-road stuff I would consider looking at it for $8k. That is my $0.02. :hattip:

Good point. For me this would mostly be a fun (somewhat impractical) 2nd vehicle after I unload the 2003 BMW 530i. Not going to lie, the supercharger is really what grabbed my eye :D. Honestly its a bit overbuilt, 33s and 4.56 gears would probably be ideal for me.

My truck currently does most everything I want it to do as far as my camping adventures go. This rig would mostly be for everything else. Some commuting (not super practical I know) the occasional class 4/6 roads in VT & NH where the low gears and 34s would shine, and the occasional weekender.

Thanks for the input. I figured his asking price was too high.

Looking at the pictures it looks like this has the push button 4WD t-case instead of the J-shift. Near as I can tell that means it is in fact a Limited trim.

Any major downfalls to that? I know folks like to see the jshift over the ADD. But after reading around the first gen section and some of the T4R forums it seems like ADD failure isnt actually that common. Is the transfer case of one or the other any better?

it's 4wd on the fly. The 4wd button is on the left side of the T case lever. maybe

That was my first thought but the picture looks like it has a straight pattern. So it must be this style.

Yeah sorry, I guess that is what I meant. Pushbutton on the left of the stick for 2Hi<>4Hi, and the stick for Hi<>Lo. Vs the J-shift which is a stick for all three shift positions and no button at all (if I understand correctly)?

Both being slightly different than the LCs which have more of an AWD setup with a center diff / Tcase combo? Not going to lie Im not up to speed on the 1st gen stuff nearly enough
