Do you know if I can spray soapy water on a hot exaust pipe while the truck is running? I fixed my exaust leaks with the high heat jb weld and I want to check to make sure that the leaks are really fixed. I want to do the soapy water method cause that’s worked well for me. Thanks!

If you are really worried about it. Use a Shop Vac set to “blow”. Stick it in the tail pipe.
    Spray a way.

As for water on a hot tail pipe. Well, I haven’t had any issues with going through a car wash with underbody sprayers. And I’ve gone through them after a long drive on the interstate.
It’s not something I’d worry about.

WARNING, it will immediately explode! Do not do this! The soap molecules can react adversely with the steel that the tailpipe is made of, especially at temperature! :bananadead::D

You'll be fine. The only thing I'll mention is that you probably want to do it when the exhaust is cold so your water doesn't evaporate too quick. Personally, I'd just check it with my hands to feel if I could still feel the little "pulses" of exhaust coming through anywhere, but again, do it when it isn't at temp so you don't burn yourself.

This is how I did it to find the exaust leaks in the first place but I live in an apartment building and my landlord doesn’t want me running an extension cord all the way down to my truck for the shop vac. Haha.

If it were mine I'd just use my ears and nose to check it.
    Can you hear a leak?
    Can you smell exhaust?
    If not, you're good.
