    Hi All.

I have some questions for the folks on here that have the external Sirius unit in their truck.

Last night I installed the Sirius Sportster 5 in my truck that I had installed in my Lexus.I have the suction cup window mount and the external antenna and I'm using wireless FM modulation and tuning into a station.

First, the audio quality is very bad. A lot of static. My Lexus had no issues with this. I am tuned into the right station (verified via Sirius site). No matter what station I try it's bad. I mounted the antenna on the roof of the truck.

Second, the suction cup window mount doesn't work very well. I noticed crutchfield had custom mounts and was wondering if anyone was using these.

Can you guys post pics of your Sirius install?

    Thanks.

Some lift, some armor, some scratches..
Just finished installing my Sportster 5 today. I used the suction cup windsheild mount and its holding pretty well so far. I placed it to the left of the steering wheel right above the inspection sticker. It fits there well and doesn't block my view at all. All the wires were able to be tucked out of sight for the most part. I ran the Power and FEA wires down and under my dash, and my antenna up and hidden behind the panel back to the rear window and out onto the roof. Im not that happy with the visible wires outside the truck and am currently looking into a more "stealthy" install for the antenna

I too have some static using the fm tuner but hooked up the FEA and it seems to have gotten a lil better. I may look into getting an dbl male AUX cord in the future.

I have a Second Gen, but can tell you the model specific brackets that Crutchfield sells are great. I have one for my Sportster 5 and it fit the dash board like a glove.
