I've used a hub shark or air hammer to get that inner-inner race off the hub.. but never to reuse the bearing, only to save a hub for reuse.

Dude sounds like he knows how to use a press. Good for him. IMO it's not a difference of skill but a difference of trying to skimp pennies. My customers will happily pay for a new bearing, hub, seals, everything. I don't have to reuse shit if a don't want to.

On my own car I'm lazy, just gimme the whole hub/bearing assembly, I'm not trying make this take all weekend

That’s the route I choose too.
4 bolts and it’s in and out.

White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
The 2 per side, bearing inner races, rollers and cage are typical tapered roller bearings.

What you are missing, or will understand as you replace the wheel bearings, is that the bearings outer race or cup is not typical. The outer race is actually machined into the flange itself and is not removable.

When you purchase the replacement bearing, whether oem or aftermarket, if new, the two roller assemblies can be removed from the square flange which serves as the outer bearing races. This allows you to, if you care to, repack the bearings prior to assembly with the grease you prefer.
The entire flange is one piece and is very precisely machined in regards to the outer bearing races.

The modular design, and minimal distance between the bearings, necessitates the press fit and high bearing preload via the torqued nut. Yes, an old school non modular design could allow replacing the outer race separately from a hub or brake disc, but that is not the case on these Tacomas and even other newer vehicles.

Regarding the difference between a 4WD and Prerunner front rotating assembly, the Prerunner hub has no bored and splined center vs the 4WD having the bored and splined hub to accommodate a driveshaft. The bearings should be the same. The outer seals and O ring should be the same for both, while the Prerunner does not utilize an inner seal, but uses a pressed in steel cap on the upright since no axle passes through. The 4WD utilizes an inner seal.

PartsGeek has it in stock for $120: https://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/AC/18535-02067375.html

If you have a press, another option is to buy the bearing in its 4-bolt housing, something like the $60 NSK 54KWH01 (OE supplier): https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10445288&cc=1431544&pt=1672&jsn=10495
then either press out your original hub or buy a new one for less than $20. Don't forget the $2 outer seal either.
