Well, I am looking for someone to print a sticker for me (replace the TRD OR sticker on truck). Will you be doing those? Assume not at event but is that something you are doing or considering?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I had 1 good CV coming off that rock. Lost traction in the moon dust. Went full weight in to the house sized boulder on the other side of the trail. When I tried to back up is when I busted the other CV. With rear wheel drive only, my truck ended up sliding the ass end down the slope. I was sideways to the trail.

It was quite the shit show.

4 guys were on my truck, at one point, as counterweight. 1 guy fell off and broke his ankle. Ended up having to anchor the rear and winch my front back over to straighten out... that's when I popped the bead on my front driver tire. My buddy, Mark got in and was driving towards that 90+ degree switch back at the edge. Before he got to it, I ended up counter weighting my own truck to keep it from rolling the other way... ya, that was kind of surreal lol.

30 friggen miles of that trail with no, real, issue... then the last 3... BAM!

Dusy said "mutherfuker, you're not getting out of here without makin a payment."

Yes. Although I’ve only lived here and Santa Barbara.

Mostly I really like my current job.

So I may have over tired my truck a bit and can’t put off trimming it anymore. I need to do a bunch of wheel well cutting.

My truck is too wide for my garage and I’m pretty sure my neighbors aren’t going to enjoy a few hours of my grinding/cutting sheet metal in the driveway.

I’m thinking of finding one of those rentable garage space spots (if that’s even a thing here) cut everything I need to, then bring it home and weld in the panels/paint since that’s a bit quieter.

Is that a thing here? Preferably something in San Jose or Santa Cruz since I’ll have to drive home with holes everywhere.

There’s a place in Santa Clara. But I’d just do it in the driveway. You’re entitled to be a little noisy during the day.

That’s what my wife said. We’ve lived (rented) here for four years I haven’t done any projects at all because I feel bad making noise.

But I hear saws all the time as well so…maybe I need to stop being a wimp. If it’s during the day just about any noise should be okay.

Not to mention I’m talking maybe two hours worth of noise. Much longer project but actual cutting noise shouldnt be too long.

Just do it. Maybe give your immediate neighbors (both sides) a heads-up as a good will gesture.

I just spent the last few days stripping bedliner spray off an ARB bumper. At first it was the shopvac and the orbital. Yeah that didn't work too well. Next up it was the angle grinder and stripping wheels. That did the job but let me tell you, loud AF.

I was doing the work on the patio and did talk to my neighbor. He was totally fine.

I’d think about a shop if it was turning into a rainy weekend and I had to get something done. Otherwise, why spend a couple hundred bucks being nice?

Agreed. Just be reasonable about your start and stop times. I guarantee it's not worse than running a jack hammer all day. Or a stupid fucking yippy dog barking and yipping all day every god damn day.

Also, check into your local ordinances if you want to be cautious. Some communities actually don't allow construction noise on Sundays.

My Honda navi had a CVT actually and I had that for a month before selling. Fuel economy on CVTs are cool but I just hate how they drive
