    Wasn't it originally stated as being 10? Then bumped? Wonder if after whatever that target/specified # is they are doing more thorough inspections after each subsequent cycle for each first stage or if one get the thorough after say 10, 12, 14, etc and next booster gets its after 11, 13, 15, etc. Obviously they're accounting for the variations that occurs due to changes in manufacturing.

    :rofl::rofl:

    A little exfoliation eh?

    I do kinda wonder if after 10+ launches the weight of the soot starts to add up to something noticeable.

    No idea on number but it was coming from either Roberts Rd or 39A to 40. We just did some pre-scape work at PPF getting ready for IntelSat G33/G34 fueling. Thats an all week job for us next week.

    Awesome. I shared the pic internally with a few colleagues that like X and one of them told me that we have a X Fastenal onsite down there.

    They spend a decent amount of time cleaning off that coking during the refurbishment process. It’s a key factor in the decision to go to methalox for starship.

    Go big or go home. NASA won’t be paying for 1000 Starships and enough Super Heavies to keep the conga line going.
    On another note, it’s interesting to see the mock ups for the Sierra Space module for orbital reef but I wonder how they plan to build them out. Sure the module itself takes very little space at launch but all the stuff they show inside still has to be brought up and fit through limited size openings. Making the content both modular and collapsible/prefab solves the latter but not the former since current modules are fully built out before launch and don’t require additional trips or extensive assembly. I do like the volume though. I hope they don’t use assembly instructions from IKEA.

    I just learned why they had to replace Raptors on both Starship and Super Heavy, apparently the lack of flame trenches for the OLM and suborbital launch mounts means that the martyte that covers the concrete has nowhere to go but back up towards the engines and caused some damage. Good news to me as far as the engines go but still an issue for testing and a possible launch unless it’s prevented by the water deluge sound suppression system, something they haven’t been using for static fires.

    Exactly. Anytime it gets to 60%+ humidity in Ohio, we basically don't go out of the house.

    At 60% we get tumbleweeds and the national weather service declares that we're in a catastrophic drought.
