Re pole:

I keep one of those little lithium jump packs in the Tacoma and Subaru. A larger one for the truck naturally. Came in handy when we were moving this winter. The ol' V10 Ford UHaul didn't want to start in the 10° mornings at all. Jumped it several times without charging.

Same week, same brutal cold, even my POS beater Talon fired up without issue. Didn't want to idle for a couple minutes, but it started

 

We've said the same thing on campus. Just head towards the smoke!

 

The guy that took that 360 shot worked on campus and left to start start that company. I ran into him at Costco last night and caught up with him for a few minutes.

Boss brought this pretty weld piece back and ask me to take .004” off the small part nearest the tail stock. Check.

I counted about 70 monitors in that room, imagine the heat if they were old CRT style.

Are you all keeping these jump packs in a sealed container or just loose in the truck? Was there an issue in the past with them rupturing?

That's interesting what was brought up about those jump start device possibly not working on a bad battery.
Anti-squall device stuffed in there. This is alignment bar used for getting diaphragms centered in turbine case. They must have had to turn the bearing journal on one end of rotor.

 

How long is the bed on that lathe?

 

I've always kept mine loose.

 

22 foot from chuck to end. Nice machine, well cared for and still pretty tight

 

A machine shop up the road has one that long, they are cool
