I have a 2007 Tacoma from Canada (unsure which trim - it has a lot of TRD parts, 4.0L V6 and a 6 speed). Because it is "Canadian," US dealerships immediately dismiss me as if the US-based Tacomas are totally different and parts won't fit.

Today I tried to get replacement clips for my OEM bug shield and the only part they could find for a hardware kit was with metal brackets for the 2005 Tacoma. Mine uses plastic brackets but is a genuine Toyota part with logos and everything.

Any idea what I can do here? I kind of want to avoid an aftermarket deflector since I just need the center plastic clips (the outside clips are working just fine). I live in an area with a lot of salt and a lot of bugs and stones and stuff.

I call BS on the it has totally different parts. My guess on the only part difference is the speedomiter. I have a truck that measures distance in Kilometres and regular get parts and prices both sides of the boarder. I have no knowledge of a Toyota factory only turning out vehicles for Canada.... The Canadian market is too small.

Find another dealer or just order parts online using the part number you need. 99.9% of the parts are the same between US and Canadian trucks

    All stock, baby!
My Taco is a Canadian model as well, and every part I’ve purchased has been just fine. Plugged my VIN into the OEM parts sites many times and nothing weird happens.

Sounds like you ran into some people that will put more effort into avoiding working, than it would to do the work in the first place.

Go to another dealer, or as some have already mentioned, order your parts online.

Sounds like a bunch of asshat's at that dealer. It's literally the same truck. I think it has a low level switch for the washer fluid. celcius instead of degrees on the dash. KMH instead of MPH. otherwise identical.

I know there's a recall on the leaf springs that mine is due for so I'll likely go into the other area dealership to try to address that (once I install some new shocks and get an alignment).

random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Parts.toyota.com and have it delivered to you local dealer parts department and you save some bucks and avoid the stealership fees. Cheers!

My thought, post something in that region's BS/general thread asking for a recommendation in the area. I have a good one nearby but I suspect you ain't driving to MA :)

Fun fact I went to the Pru in Newark 4 years ago for a show..good time

I moved here from Washington and I actually bought this at a Ford dealership because I stood around at a Toyota dealership there for about 45 minutes and nobody wanted to sell me a truck.

there are 2 Toyota dealerships about equal distance from my house, so I'll give the other one a shot next time I need to deal with them. luckily it's an older truck and I know what I'm doing (just need to buy parts from dealerships sometimes).
