Going to Wendy's/BK/etc nowadays just doesn't make sense. Yeah let me get a 6$ single burger, meanwhile nextdoor at the place that's chopping vegetables and making them fresh can match the prices.

Shenanigans. They used to be cheap and fast, low quality. They're still low quality, they're just acting like they're "fancy" with all this hand-breaded BS buzzwords.

I literally only went when I had a coupon. I could use a five dollar coupon to get $3 worth of food. Now it’s a six dollar coupon for three dollars worth of food

Fair - and I did the same, we had a BK at the end of the road at my old office. Some days you just needed a hot lunch, and it was cheap. Their app worked good enough for coupons though.

Now I'm in a new place. We have a good cafeteria here, a cheeseburger and chips is like 3 bucks. So, that's been nice.

 

I stopped eating BK and McD's when i saw the video of that mom who found a kids meal in her car with a receipt that was like 5 years old and there was no mold.

I'm similar for bailing on Dunkin Donuts donuts though. I started a new job in March, and I didn't find out until about June that there was a bakery that cooks a LOT of their donuts...across the street. I saw an 18 wheeler with a DD trailer pull in and was intrigued so I looked it up. Now. We used to live across from a bakery, and you could smell it CONSTANTLY, it was fantastic. This place...have NEVER smelled it. Didn't know it existed. So, that gave me the heebies that they're sketchy. Obviously before that I knew they had to be, but it's just knowing it.

BTW I forgot to say nice work on the climb. I used to solo a lot. The best advise I ever got was from an old Gunks climber who happened along as I was soloing. He waited and after I down climbed another route he asked if I knew the rules of soloing. I played along and said no. His reply.

Rule 1. Don't fuck up and die.
Rule 2. See rule number 1.

I've since used that line a bunch of times. Still makes me smile thinking about it 25 years later. lol
