Has anyone replaced the lower spherical bearings on King coils for our trucks (2nd or 3rd gens) with aftermarket?

Mine are shot and Id like to replace them asap before a big trip in Oct. I have a few emails out to folks like PolyPerformce to see what leads times are on King OEM replacement parts. Poly also sells FK Bearings. Looks like a good replacement with good reviews, I just need to know the size.

Anyone happen to know the size?

Awesome thanks guys. Thats my biggest complaint with King, not easy to find info on them which makes it difficult to service properly

Interesting. Didnt think to look at a different manuf. Makes sense they are all the same size.

Any issues with the Icon spacers offsetting the bearing, vs Kings centered design?

Thanks to @NocturnalTaco for the very helpful quote from another thread

^If you're running the sway bar, Icon's instructions put the longer spacer in front for clearance. If you ditched the sway bar, I'd run the longer spacer in the rear for more clearance to the CV axle. The bolt head needs to be on the same side as the short spacer, so the weight isn't coming down on the reduced diameter portion of the shank.

The spirolox retaining rings in the Icon kit don't require snap ring pliers. Two pocket screwdrivers or picks work well.

    Kings run equal length spacers.

Because of that Id think running Icon spacers in a King shock would tweak the entire thing a bit and put some twist on the upper joint? Probably not a big deal but idk.

I need to go back and find the thread that talked about replacing the lower OEM bolt with one that isnt shouldered

There's a pivot at the top of the shock, so maybe it wouldn't matter...

    :notsure:

But I wouldn't run anything outside of King's spec.

I haven't done the math but with the size of the spacers, I assume this be a less than 1° difference. I do agree about running king spec just to be safe though. There are king kits out there for about the same price as the icon kit.

The upper joint is the same heim bearing so no issues, no added bending loads on the shock shaft.

I also sell bearing and spacer kits for Fox, King, Icon in different grades of bearings from FK. They all have an F1 fit which is going to be the tightest to start with and give the longest service life. I include longer lasting coated C Clips that are easier to work with than the Spiralocs after they are rusted together.

Awesome man. Actually just replied to your email. If Id known you had a whole kit with stainless steel FK bearings I would have just ordered that right from the start and been done with it. As it is I already have regular bearings and clips, just need the spacers.

Is the price difference between the 3 due to the bearings? I need to order up a set and curious of the differences between the 3.
    Thank you.

    Correct.

    COM - Low carbon steel
    FKS - alloy steel
    FKSS - stainless steel

FK has more info in their website. https://www.fkrodends.com/products/spherical-bearings/

I ordered COM10T bearings because I didn't know better....did I mess up? Are the FKS and FKSS worth the additional cost? What bearing do fox/king/icon/ads come standard with?
