Hi Everyone. New here, and hoping to get some help.

    2007 Tacoma v6

I was doing a transmission flush and dropped the pan and was unscrewing the filter, and I accidentally took this tension bracket off.

Now I have no idea what position it gets installed at.

it looks like the roller at one end simply goes into the lever, but on other photos online it seems the lever is pushed forward, so there's tension.

    Pls see attached pix.

    any help is appreciated.

Thanks. I got a good screenshot of where it sits, but I'm a bit concern if that lever is in a different spot based on where you have your shifter set at or if its the same spot for all. (P,R,D...etc) I think this is the shifter.

I don’t exactly understand what your concern is.
The lever looks like it moves, as it’s attached to the shift cable.

I don’t think you can get it in a “wrong” position. Not unless you have taken the gear position switch loose. It is bolted to the OUTSIDE of the transmission. OPPOSITE SIDE OF SHIFT CABLE.
And even then, you can set it back in time out side the transmission.

Basically, the lever looks to be connected to a rod that goes all the way through the trans.
The rod is also connected to the gear position switch, this switch tells the truck what gear you are in.

See the first picture. Notice the rod circle is flat on one side. This side goes through the trans and stick out into the parking switch.

Take a good look at the last photo. Notice the rod is “flat” on the end sticking out of the Parking Switch.
