Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

It’s nice to be able to talk to the machine vendors and actually see their demo machines running. I had a good laugh yesterday, while talking to Haas the sales guys was telling me how great their service and support was. He told me how all their service techs drives vans stocks full of all the possible parts they might need. A little later while talking to the Brothers Speedio rep about reliability he made the comment “while does Haas need vans full of parts”. Lol.

 

Massive vehicle swap going on right now.

The Highlander is at the dealership getting the gauge cluster replaced.

My wife took the Tacoma to work because it has a sticker on it for her to be able to park in the hospital lot.

I'm driving the Pilot that I haven't driven in 2 years and that hasn't been driven at all in 2 months. It was good for it to stretch it's legs.

 

they don't send us till they've already picked the machine. Then they send us to another shop already running one to hear their operators feedback.

 

Thanks! I built it when lumber was stupid expensive, and would have cost double what the shed was. It's holding up great so far. I'm a massive scrounger, and like to repurpose stuff I have, or can get free or cheep. All the rough sawn wood on the coop and run was traded from a neighbor for fire wood. We have tons of dead ash and she had the boards left over from 50 years ago when the outbuildings on her property were built. She was happy to just get rid of it, but I knew she needed firewood, so the trade was a good way to fill her wood shed. I'm still using the little scraps I have left. I made drawer pulls for some shop drawers I built this summer. Sometimes even I wonder why I keep stuff...

304 will rust eventually, went with 316

 

I'm dragging today, and tomorrow will be rough. Coming in early to get in 4 hours of OT and then straight off to church. Maybe a bit of respite in the afternoon.

 

I have my first doctor's appointment in far too long this afternoon.
