Leer 180 roof rack issue

I bought a Leer 180 for my 2017 access cab Tacoma. When I ordered it I thought I would wait until I did more research before I put a roof rack on it to see what my needs might be. The topper has been completed but not shipped yet and I asked my dealer about adding the roof rack and was told it was too late since the cab is built just waiting to ship. Also that my dealer could install the roof rack when it arrives but it will it will void the warranty. If the roof rack or the runners are not installed by the factory it will void the warranty and that is the only place authorized to do the install. So the dealer basically says I am SOL unless i want to void the warranty. Can this be true that there are no authorized techs except at the factory? :-(

 

Why not call Leer and ask them?

Leer worked with me and pulled the topper from shipping and added the runners. They had told the dealer it was too late. I talked with a guy in Indiana who called the guy at the Pennsylvania plant and he got it done. A thank you to Leer. I like the topper so far no issues
