I've used 100gr 3-blade Muzzy's for well over 25 years and not one single time have I ever had an issue. But I guess I'm kinda old school. :anonymous:

Fact: they'll penetrate a metal building (2 layers of metal)......

I took my first ever deer yesterday morning. It wasn’t a storytelling buck that we all dream of, but that doe put some meat in my refrigerator. Learned somethings from the experience too.
1 I need to relax and take my time on the shot ( hopefully with getting my first out of the way I’ll do better next time).
2 dragging a deer through brush uphill sucks. She took off towards the back of my property.
3 I was dumbfounded by the yellowjackets the doe attracted during skinning. I may just gut and rinse any future kills outside then skin inside my basement until we get cooler weather.

The kid seems to be about ready for the youth hunt... At the end of October. 25 yards with a .22 short, and she put another one 1/2" left of that just propped on her elbows... And I'm a pretty decent artist jsIMG_20220917_111311_235.jpg

Congrats man! EVERY deer is a storytelling deer btw. Sounds to me like you landed a pretty sufficient shot, and idk how it is for everyone else, but expect that same feeling nearly every time lol. Post some pics if you took any!

If you took this bow hunting, Double Congrats. Of all the hunting seasons, Bow Hunting is the toughest one of all. I bow hunted on public land for 10 years, and never killed a deer. I had several missed opportunities, but never a kill. So pat yourself on the back for a job well done. I used to watch all the hunting shows and used to wonder how these hunters would do on public land where the deer have learned to look up into the trees. I've been busted so many times by does, I almost gave up. I really miss the peace and quiet of sitting in a hang on or climbing stand early in the morning. Ya'll keep posting and I'll keep reading. Don't forget the pics.

Here are a few pics from Friday. She was taken with a crossbow from my blind.

Pic of the entry wound. The bolt passed completely through and literally pushed her guts out on the exit side, that’s why I said I need to tighten up my aim. I believe I just missed the lungs as the blood trail was next to nonexistent. 076ECA9D-6DAD-4160-8936-8E292E69449B.jpg
I finally got her out the woods and packed the cavity with a bag of ice. My kids wanted to pet the deer so they came out. I wish I would’ve gotten some photos of them. My Daughter who initially asked was scared at first but I got her to warm up and pet the doe. My 2.5 yr old son was all about it, lol. 32FFEA08-C9A3-4979-925D-AB0AB70AFE28.jpg
