My first thought was thinking of the reality they were born into, and the preceding shit they didn't experience.

But then I realized that I can't talk, because I didn't see the moon launch. :anonymous: My parents didn't experience war rations. My grandparents... hell I don't know. They saw everything. From horses and outhouses to "you've got mail." That's an amazing life.

Also during school that day I noticed a white 4Runner with color matched white bumpers parked next to me. The paint marks match up with my bumper height. It was a 3rd gen 4 runner.

OP- since it was most likely another student- walk around the lot looking for the other vehicle some school day during break - you might find the matching RP.

Oh just you wait. In 50 years we’ll have stories to tell… so many stories that the grandkids won’t believe we daily drove ICE cars, and then we’ll be asked about the “insert banned topic” incessantly. You’re saying the *********?

I see you mentioned the Dean previously. Remember, this is a hit and run. Paint can be matched from the culprits vehicle to the flecks on your truck. Cameras, etc. Will the cops care? Who knows. But it is well within your right to file a police report, and many will say that you most definitely should file a report.

I did not notice the large dent until the day after it happened. I called the police to file a report, and they said it was too late to send an officer out. At that point I was already home, and had slept through the night. I completed the report on the highway patrol website and mailed it to where it told me to. That will take time though

Issue with not filing a report on the spot is that there is now doubt about where it happened. The cops won’t be running paint samples or anything crazy, so unless you have camera footage from the school or a confession from the culprit, there is a reasonable chance you are out of luck.

Personally I wouldn’t let it go easily. Follow up with school, follow up with that police report. But don’t get your hopes up for nailing the person who did this.

    Life ain’t fair.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear but I am a fellow high school driver. The faculty do have their own parking lot. Also love the ford truck for your kids.

I seen that you are in HS and edited my post. At that young age, people are going to get into accidents. My first car was a 1970 Chevelle V8. Probably not the best choice for my first car at 14 1/2 years old. 4 days after purchasing that car, I had my GF and three other of her big hair friends in the back seat of the car probably blasting some Motley Crue or Metalica. I couldn't see shit behind me and asked if I was clear. Yep...gave it a go and love tapped the apartment buildings where we were. It didn't even dent the bumper of the car. So we went to the State fairgrounds for some rides and concerts. Little did I know the extensive damage that was done inside. I was wondering why the city police tried pulling me over. We went to the fair and the mother of the girl that lived in the fairgrounds found us and told me the police are looking for me. The police had been to my house already and my Dad told them not to call him when they found me. I turned myself in around midnight and I told them not to call my parents (I knew what my Dad would say). They did and my dads reply "I don't give a shit what you do with him..I'm going back to sleep and not coming down to the PD..." and hung up. The police didn't know what to do. They let me go with all my tickets and court dates. LOL

Not to lecture, but don’t run this to the ends of the earth. Yes try to track them down. But don’t burn any bridges or do anything stupid in the meantime. We pay for insurance for a reason.

Maybe stating that would he helpful. By the context of your posts. I assumed that the pic is where you were hit and you took the pic when you noticed, not after you’d driven off.

My bad man. Didn’t take a pic in the parking lot. Didn’t notice it until the next morning. That’s the only pic of the dent that I have
