I’ve read several threads about this, but never really saw a true resolution. I have a slow drip right on the far right corner of the glove box that puddles on my floor mats every time there’s a hard rain. My truck is a 2018 TRD OR. Is this most likely a cowl issue? If so, are there any write ups or videos that show how to address it?

I do have a factory style roof rack that I installed but I do not think that’s the issue as I have sealed it very well with silicone in every place possible and I’ve run it for a while without noticing the water. This has all come about in the last 2 months. Also have seen some people suggest 3rd brake light but I don’t think that’s my issue either. Nowhere else in the truck is damp. Just that one slow drip right on the bottom right corner of the glove box.

Any thoughts, good write-ups, or pictures are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When the holes in my roof started leaking after I removed my Prinsu, the water in the cab appeared on the A pillars, the headliner on the roof and the passenger side floor. My glovebox was never wet at all.

So I would agree that it’s probably not a leaking roof rack if your water is in the glovebox area. Sorry, that’s all I can contribute to try to help haha

Following because I'm dealing with this as well. The dealership replaced the roof rack and told me they sealed it up, but every time it rains the truck smells like shoe. Need to figure this out, like now.

I added a factory roof rack, and discovered two years later that it was pooling up under the passenger floor mat, which caused mold to grow on the carpet pad. The dealership found it when I brought it in for the 3rd brake light recall (which was NOT leaking, the irony..). They replaced the roof rack completely and installed a new one. It monsooned the day after and so much water got in that it actually soaked the seats from dripping off the headliner. After that I never noticed a leak. The headliner stays dry. However, sometimes when it's been parked out in the rain, I get in and the truck smells musty. So... I have reason to believe it's still not fully sealed. It's frustrating to take it to the dealership, be without my truck and deal with the headache of getting to work and back on time, plus if they can't find the leak, I'm SOL.

Could use advice from the rest of you guys, how you'd approach this situation.

If it were me, I’d remove the roof rack, and put the factory seals back on after sealing the mounting holes.

Take the roof rack off and seal the holes then put roof rack back on and wait for a few days then spray the water with hose on the roof.. wait for any leak, if no leak for hours, then you are good to go.

I have had leak from my aftermarket roof rack. I had to reseal the holes then it's all good.

Yes.. it was leaking through the A pillar, onto the passenger floor.
