    Hello,

I am planning on taking out the front seats to vacuum the inside of my truck. I also want to try and clean the front seats because they have some dirt stains.

I am wondering what steps i should take to not have the airbags deploy while i am removing the seat and if removing the seat will mess with the airbag system after i reinstall the seats.

I've read some articles on here and it seems like i need to disconnect the battery before i unplug the airbag connector, but what about the re installation, will i need to re calibrate the airbag sensor at all? How can i tell if my airbag is hooked up properly and functional?

Here are some pics of the stains i am working with, if you have any recommendations for a product/method to use, that would be very helpful!

Any advice would be much appreciated!
    Cheers

Can't hurt to disconnect the battery, but the seats come out easy-peasy and the connectors are seat belt, not airbag. Look for distinctive yellow wiring and connectors for anything airbag related.

I'm a big fan of Blue Coral upholstery dry clean spray. That stuff has worked surprisingly well on things for me over the years. It seems to be an aerosol spray now -- the older spray I have is a simple liquid.

    Won't hurt it.

I take mine out often. While the general advice is to disconnect the battery, and I will not be liable if you do as I do, but I leave the battery alone and just go for it. :anonymous::anonymous:

Disconnect battery for a few minutes before removing connectors. Plug back in before reconnecting battery. Truck won’t know anything happened.

They are both. Driver's has two connectors, seatbelt and airbag. Pax has two slightly different connectors, seatbelt/weight sensor, and airbag. I'm not sure how a power-driver's is wired but can't imagine it to be too wildly different.

Right, @Rock Lobster! I'm confusing my Gen 1 and Gen 2 trucks...

Here's the bottom of the driver seat from my 2015 DC TRD OR. Note the connectors -- airbag in yellow.
