Looks like they read my mind. I asked if I could get one with out the hood scoop but not the end of the world.

Now I wonder if a regular louvre setup or one of these would perform better.

I want to say fiberworks and adv fiberglass both told me they could add louvers to their non hood scoop hoods. But I was also looking at 1 piece hoods that had fender flares built in

the idea i believe with this design is turbulence. scoup intake lets in what heat travels up from headers and out. through louvers. i really like it but would rather carve&keep my stock hood.

Wonder what the weight savings would be with a carbon fiber hood?

Siebon makes nice stuff. Got an STI wing from them for my sister Subaru and it was immaculate. Clear coat did however fade after about 5yrs or so of mediocre paint care.

I recall @Lucario Runner said 40-50lbs. I can get behind that. I would either get something like the Seibon or hack up the stock hood.

@nudavinci64 that's a nice looking hood. I have a similar hood on another Yota with a drop vent that is behind the radiator. Eventually you'll have to re clear the gel coat or paint over it. They last quite awhile but with the heat radiating, UV and parking outside, probably doesn't help. If it were me, I'd probably get a single stage paint job over the wet carbon to keep things incognito.

Yah I was thinking of tossing a wrap on it if I did get one. is the scoop actually functional here? I assume no but if so then seems low profile. I may still cut up the stock hood since that’s much cheaper route but I have been waiting for them to release this version for awhile. Damn it’s $$$$ though.

the drop vent behind the radiator would have been nice.

The cheaper route has made me happier than spending a bunch after trying both: replacing a hood and just modifying a stock one. If you're after a certain function or style of vent, choose what fits. I'm happy with $80 vents and a Sunday mod morning..

Temp shots, probably repost on this thread oh well

ha thanks! I did try I was going bonkers back and forth on your thread. But throwing in the towel. Your placement seems very nice and good size Louvers too.

Did you go with bolts that or end up using rivits? I was looking at some other fancier ones and they all use rivits.

You would be correct. Other kits, I see them using rivets, so I was curious. Maybe just to be more low profile. I was looking at Spiked Performance ,which has them mostly for cars and recently Jeep TJs.

In theory, if I got a pair made by them (assuming I can't repurpose one of the others they have), we would have a S/C specific one for our trucks. they offer a custom option which I could see them making regular or maybe a GB if more folks are interested.

Also, saw this before, from what I’ve seen in the yota forums I’m leaning toward BS..

Anyone else know how they managed to crank out a usable 900+HP 1GRFE?

While two big turbos front mounted is the answer, and true, what about preventing the block from ripping itself apart (as has been mentioned somewhere in here)?
