Anyone play fanatasy Football?

I was browsing TW and noticed there wasn't a thread at least that i could find for fantasy football talk. Thought we should get one going for a healthy debate to help fellow tw members out! Iv been heavily involved in leagues the past 4 seasons! I think my Tacoma not my only addiction. Im in 3 $150 leagues right now. Ones 2-0 and the others are 1-1 and 0-2Hows yalls teams looking?

Sorry, just saw this thread! I have been in the same fantasy football league for going on 20 years. Its a bunch of guys I grew up with or went to college with. Back in the day, we would use magazines for info on players! We used to do in-person drafts every year, but people move and luckily we can just use Zoom now(phone-in before that).

I'm 2-1 as of last night, but haven't won league title in MANY years. It's more for fun than anything else. Once we started getting the children of original players to start playing we don't even charge an entry fee anymore.

 

Really cool. Man FF has come a long way since its beginnings! I won the wuflu year of 2020 but got knocked in first round of playoffs this year.

 

I was in an office league years ago. It fell apart because the two people who were using the website autopick kept winning.

It was more fun coming up with funny team names.

 

Thats part of the fun and annoying part of FF is the randomness at times! But picking the funny team names is a good part as well. My team name this year is the homelanders. lol

Most of our teams were named after current events in the worst way possible. Bonus points if you could portmanteau a news headline with a phrase pulled from urban dictionary. We also used the league chat to secretly talk shit about bosses and coworkers. In retrospect we were lucky HR didn't find out about it.

Fun times. I miss it.

 

Our league is our company league as well but we are very competitive. I won just over 1k a couple of years ago haha.

 

I tell everyone my FIL is a pro football coach. I don’t tell them it’s fantasy though

Just wanted to follow-up because I was also searching for a fantasy football thread when I stumbled on this. I'd love to get a TacomaWorld league going. I've only been playing fantasy since 2013 and really enjoy it. I got into it as a cheap hobby, now I spend a little more on it than I'd like.

 

Been playing for over 10 years now. 12 man league. I finally bought a trophy for the winner each season. Should’ve done it sooner

 

Won my work league this year with a 7-5 record, sneaking into the playoffs and getting EXTREMELY lucky with matchups. Won a decent sized pot that unfortunately went to holiday gifts this year...

I’m in a few leagues. Big money league has a $3k pot with some additional side bets. Unfortunately I lost the semi last night because of Purdy. My two smaller leagues have a $500-$1k payout for first. Also eliminated in semis in one and in the quarter final in the other. Still walked away with a few jerseys, as side bets. I don’t think lol at next year though. Kinda tired of it lol. The leagues are pretty serious and I’m over waking up early to catch those open waiver claims haha

 

I've cut down from 2 money leagues to 1 in the last couple of years, and the stress and headaches is mostly gone.
