Anyone making forged rods, and pistons for the 2.4l?

Its been a while since I posted here, but I'm getting ready to rebuild my turbo on my 02 Tacoma, 2.4l, and I "might" just try to go ahead, and put forged internals so I can turn up the boost a bit.

I remember doing a search for the above parts in the early teens, but back then forged parts for these engines were custom, and $$$$$.

I was wondering if anyone is making forged parts at a "reasonable" price.[ie a set of four rods under $400, and forged pistons around the same price].

Also, there was the issue of injectors. Are there any readily made bigger injectors from another vehicle that will swap into the Tacoma? I know there are stand alone ecu's that are programmable where you can put just about anything together, but I'm just looking to boost the output to around 300hp. [I'm currently running around 200hp at 9psi].

Curious if the rest of your driveline will handle that?

I have no idea about the parts you seek, but I'd be surprised if there was an off the shelf solution.

From many years of modding cars to go fast, the only thing I can say is that "it depends" Were I to use the truck to drag race with slicks, probably not very long.

Just driving the truck around with the occasional boost to get on the interstate, or quickly get around a slow moving vehicle on a two lane road, it should be fine.

Problem is, usually these things do snowball.

I bought my late fathers olf 90 Mazda B2000 with its whopping 85hp 2.2l engine. I bought the truck simply to get me back/forth to a new job which was a long commute, so I could save on gas.

That little truck with the smashed bed snowballed into a twin turbo 363 SBF, TKO600 trans, with Currie 9" with watts link, and 14" brakes.

Have you checked Lce performance? They make engine stuff for these.

Thanks for the link. Looks like they have reasonable priced injectors. I'll take a deeper look into their parts later tonight.
