Stock height old man EMU all around. Just added a 2.5inch spacer in front and add a leafs in rear. Also have a front ARB front bumper with a 1200ib Warn winch.
Hey guys, first post on the forums here so bear with me.

I currently am rocking a 2003 3.4 L tacoma double cab 4x4 with a front ARB bumper and a 1200ib Warn winch. I installed spacers up front and add a leafs in the rear so I could role 33's, but the spacers didn't lift it enough and she rubs like a back massage from a gorilla... sounds like a jet taking off when I crank the steering wheel. (note that it currently sits lower in the front than the rear as the spacers didn't lift to desired height) Anyhow, I picked up some bilsteins aswell as some ARB springs and am wondering if when I slap those on, will it still rub/sag? Also will the ARB springs add a bit of a lift or is that all from where I set the preload ring on the bilsteins? Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate these forums.

If you rub now, you'll rub with new coils.

Look at your suspension, and picture it cycling. Based on its geometry, you can see now why new coils won't alleviate the issue.

You need to do the pinch weld mod, and make sure you get a good alignment, to take care of any rubbing you may have.

I will suggest getting rid of that spacer though regardless; lift it the right way.

You need the stiffter front springs. I just went through this with my ARB.

    Thanks for the response,
I have done the pinch weld mod already, it still rubs though, probably do to my offset + wheel spacers. Im really wanting the level the truck, and now am thinking that to do so I might have to adjust the new struts to the .5inch lift setting and then throw in the spacers so I get an actual 3 inches. Thoughts? The new struts I'm putting in are only capable of max 2.6 inches of lift alone which is just above what the spacers (currently on truck right now) spec out at. So if you do the math... I should get 3 inches after adding both.
    Thanks again guys

Stock springs don't work with arb. Especially worn stock springs.

I have the stiffer eibach coils up front to hold up the bumper. I'm on the lowest setting and I got 3" of lift with the heavy bumper and winch.

No more nose diving under braking and it handles much better. Yes it's stiff at first until the coils loosen up a little.

I could be wrong but, are those tires stretched?

I'd opt to get the appropriate wheels for those tires, or get the right tires for those wheels (if your tires are worn).

The whole backspacing differences, spacers, etc. isn't something to even consider. Just get the right wheels from the get go, and like I said a good alignment as well.

Be surprised how much more room you'll gain with a good alignment.

Stacking lifts like that is unsafe- Just don't even think about it.

There are thousands of threads here covering lift vs wheel/tire clearances. Please look some of them up, and try to wrap your head around the concept that a suspension lift on an IFS truck will not help you clear the frame while turning.

What you need are 883 coils with an increased spring rate to compensate for the weight of the bumper + winch. Then select the Bilstein perch of choice. 2.5" to 3" isn't going to make a bit of a difference on tire clearance. Get a good alignment. If you still rub after that, you need to consider new wheels or tires.

    Hey
    Andy01DblCabTacoma

Thanks for the knowledge. Tires aren't rubbing on the frame, only the wheel well where the pinch weld is. Truck doesn't have a problem hitting the frame, wheel spacers help with that. I'm definitely considering the alignment route though after I get the new struts and springs in.
    Thanks again.

Wheel spacers extend your scrub radius, rubbing is pretty typical when running spacers you need appropriate offset wheels or serious trimming/tubbing to avoid the scrub rub.

Tires aren't stretched and are only a week old. Probably just looks funny cause I'm rocking 15inch rims instead of the tacoma cultural norm 16's. Just personal preference. Definitely going to get an alignment though after throwing the new struts in.
I appreciate the help and replies.
    Thanks
