Cross Wind front window noise TSB Update.

My 2022 DCLB has a whistle that sounds like its coming from the driver mirror from 30+ with crosswind. Ive driven with the mirror folded in and sound persists. Guess it would have to be the weather stripping then? Only has 1k miles so guess i have to deal for a while or track it down lol.

 

Did you ever find a fix for this? I have added some vent visors (which may have helped a bit) and ordered some weatherstripping today to add around the door. Mine is a 2022SR. Hoping the added weatherstripping minimizes some of the wind noise that I’m hearing. From what I can tell a lot of the wind noise comes around the drivers side mirror. Just today I folded the mirror in and no change in noise. Mine get really bad around 70 plus. From what I gathered it seems to be “normal” for these trucks but when I’m paying premium rates for a truck I’d at least expect it to be as quiet as my 2000 Chevy.

I believe that may be why some newer trucks come with an air dam on the front. I haven’t checked yet but I believe this has been fixed on the newer truck after the year the tsb took place. Installing the vent visor definitely changed the acoustics of the sound and now instead of hearing it at 60 mph I hear it at around 70. That’s when it gets noticeable. I’ve gotten more used to it but every once and a while it’s loud enough to really be annoying.

 

Yea i never really looked into it, i took my air dam off once i got it. Another guy i talked to said it’s the piece where the mirror bolts to the body but i haven’t looked into it. I also have a whistle at higher speeds 70-80+ that sounds like it’s from the rear weatherstripping but again i haven’t looked into it much

 

I thought it was caused by the seat belts.

 

ive noticed this noise recently coming from my passenger side, windshield/pass side mirror area. usualy at highway speeds around 75-80 mph. Have not really had the time to troubleshoot the issue, but I want to say ive noticed it more since I have installed a new front bumper and had to trim the fenders and fender flares as well as the splash guards in the wheel well. wondering if its just forced air through, but it really does seem to come from the pass. side mirror area in that corner by the tweeter.

 

This may help but what I have always done to my vehicles is put die-electric grease on my door seals once a year. I have no wind noise on my 2022 Limited. By the way the manual says to use die-electric grease on the door seals. It keeps them soft and seems to seal well. Have always done it to my 2002 Yukon and it’s still quiet as a 747.

 

I've read about the TSB before I bought my 2023 TRD 4DR and that was the first thing I checked for. at 7 miles off the showroom floor I could hear it.
I have recently added an ARB Summit bumper, did the cutting and what not. It is defiantly not the bumper in my case. But my MPG has left the building
