Rear seats delete 1st gen

Hello everyone,

I have a double cab taco and am looking for suggestions of deleting the rear bench. Have a few ideas in mind wondering if anyone else did it and how.

 

I made this awhile back. It's nice having dry secure storage for tools etc.

 

What did you use for the materials

 

Box and drawers are plywood with rubber sheet. The face of drawers and brackets/mounts are steel and the legs for the extension are aluminum. Trim is pvc.

 

got it like the idea might just might make the drawers little smaller

 

Do a search there is at least one existing rear seat delete thread.

They're definitely taller than I want, but I wanted to be able to put all the tools and parts I'd need on the trail. For extended camping trips they're great for putting a case of water and whatever else you want easily accessible. At some point I'll be making another set about half the height.

Are you looking for a manufactured part or diy? There are no diy 1st gen "rear seat deletes" as far as I know. So 1st, 2nd 3rd or whatever vehicle doesn't matter, just inspiration, gotta make it yourself.

 

I know that there is no ready to go kits. Asking for ideas from 1st gen owners.
