Genuine Toyota Tacoma TRD Lift Kit 2" Suspension Kit. Extreme Terrain 2" leveling kit. BFG T/A Ko2 285/70R16. S&B cold air intake.
Hey folks, I recently purchased a 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport. I bought a 2 inch leveling kit from Extreme Terrain( 2" front-1" rear) I had the dealer install their TRD 2" suspension lift, and while they were at it, install the leveling kit also. Unbeknownst to me, the suspension kit already leveled it and the front sat higher by an inch. Had a 2" block installed in the rear and all is well with level. I had a set of BFG K02 mounted on the stock rims(285/70R17), but there was only 1/4 clearance between UCA's and tire. So i had 1" wheel spacers installed. Getting a good bit of bump steer now. Just when you think you got it all figured out, lack of planning and research smacks you across the face and says, "dipshit" So, the major issue I have now is, when the suspension is 3/4- fully extended,( like putting it on a lift to check the spacer torque) my ACU's are rubbing on the springs. Will ACU's fix this situation, and if so, what would you folks suggest? So basically, 4 inch of lift with another 1.5 inch of tire height. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

No, anything over 3.5 hits the control arms on the springs with regular driving. SPC arms will help, but ultimately you need to remove the spacers.

You have zero down travel and wicked poor ball joint angles on top of the coil contact.

Jd fabrication ucas. Don't get spc I had the newer style and replaced ball joints twice and the bushing were shot quickly and that's with regular maintenance.

I would pull the leveling kit. You have increased the likelihood of damaging the coilovers and the CV’s.

Sounds like you have a few things going on. These lift height numbers you mention, is that based on you measuring, or just off the kit description? 3.5-4" lift is excessive and far taller than we would recommend... especially not without getting an aftermarket UCA. The reason your UCA are hitting the spring is bc of your spacer lift not mainly bc of your total lift height. The spacer made your total extended travel much longer than what an extended travel coilover would offer, which is also putting all the other steering/cvs passed their limitations. Even if you were to get new UCA to help with the spring contact, you would also need bump stop spacers and then its still lifted pretty tall for the other joints to handle. If it's just for looks, you can prob get away with it.

Bummer.. Not what I wanted to hear, but better to know now rather than later.. Thank you all for the insight!!! Yes, basically the truck is for show. Dont intend to do much offroading with it. I guess ill take a look at some body lifts to make up for the 2 inches from the level kit.. Thx again :)
