    Hey all,

I've been in the market for a spare for quite some time, but unfortunately the pickings are slim where I am located.

I'm running 265/75R16 on my Tacoma right now. I have the stock spare Tire 265/70R16.

I'm trying to get a second spare for my truck, and have had a couple people offer me 265/70R17 would that fit my truck? Sometimes I have to drive long distances on spares, so would that cause unwanted damage?

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

I have a 265/70/16 that I took off my Sport. I thought it was weird that the spare was a 16 rather than a 17’s that were on the ground. It is just sitting in my garage, I bought 5 285/70/17’s

As long as the overall diameter of the tire is the same you can run 16, 17, 18, or 20 inch wheels for a spare, but the bigger the wheels the shorter the tire will have to be to match the diameter of the tires you are running. 265/75R16 is the same outside diameter as 265/70R17. There are tons of tire size comparison pages out there, just input the tire sizes and it will tell you the specs you need.
