Not trying to get into buy vs. lease (advantages to both) but when the leasing gets out of hand you can always do a long purchase contract with a low rate from a credit union. With a high demand vehicle like the Tacoma you can sell it when you want and not worry about when the lease ends.

This may actually work to your advantage. It used to be a given that you could sell your leased vehicle during the lease term and at expiration to a dealer without paying sales tax. Some leasing banks are ending that.

My ex wife did this for years, and recently tried to do this with a Ford Edge but Ford Credit would not let her sell her leased Edge mid-lease to a Toyota dealer directly. She had to buy it first, pay the tax, and then sell it.

The disadvantage would be if you crash it it would be harder to sell when repaired vs. a leased car you can turn back in.
