I got this in the mail today. It's a Marshall 1W micro stack that was offered as a free rebate with purchase of an amp head. My amp head is still in limbo, but this was fun to tide me over until the full scale shows.

It actually sounds pretty decent and has a Marshall tone. My only knock is to get distortion out of it (without adding an in-line effects loop) is to put everything to 11 which is actually a bit too loud to mess with at night in the house when the kids are sleeping. I ran out to the garage to mess with it, but once it warms up it actually rips. Of course...rips is relative with my low quality playing.

Trucks all put back together, just needs a test drive after my kid’s soccer game. Did a make shift alignment, mostly a toe and go setup, we’ll see if it works!

Hey peeps. So I have a full CB radio setup I was going to install this season but I'm going to hold off until spring. I was informed over the weekend many of you use GMRS radios instead nowadays. Any of yall able to use a PA speaker with that setup? Debating selling the CB setup and making the switch to GMRS before I ever even install it lol

I mean cod is a generous term for budget grocery store fish filets.

They didn't have full sandwich size so these were two per sandwich but hot damn, I'm sold on this.

Well, in fairness, in order to descend, you do have to ascend. I understand your statement about doing it all at once, South to North but another side of me says that is is a remarkable accomplishment, regardless if you do it all at once or in pieces or in no particular order. It is hard to carve 6 months out of one's life.

Several years ago we were on the AT in Connecticut and met a family of through hikers from Texas. Dad, Mom and five kids between 8 and 15 y.o. The five older kids were home. Yep, ten kids in total and mom was maybe five feet tall, 110 pounds. The logistics of a family of seven on the AT is staggering. Dad was ER doctor in Dallas who'd taken a one year sabbatical

True, but in theory, you aren't "doing" the trail on the ascent there. For me, I have it in my mind already, end it by summiting Katahdin. And then I'm "done" on the descent already.

o_O Wow. I mean, more power to 'em. I am even hesitant in how to handle the dog!

Downside is she wouldn't be able to hit Katahdin with me.

Three A.T. areas are off-limits: The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Bear Mountain State Park Trailside Museum and Zoo, and Baxter State Park.

So there's some logistics to figure out. My wife is a coin toss right now, she hasn't done any sort of longer-term boondocking before, so that's what next year will be. I am dialing back wheeling/broverlanding trips, and instead will be doing more backpacking and hiking. Unfortunately I looked and the LT is a 3-4 week hit. That surprised me a little, I thought it was closer to a 2 week, and I could bring it down to a week w/ a long weekend or something. Oh well. Either way, she'll be out with me for some of that, and that'll decide if she's in or not. Then the plan is '24 to F off for 6-8 months.

I won't ever do the whole AT - I don't like camping so I stick to long day hikes. I do want to take the girlfriend to Katahdin, though. It's just tough to find time - she's been working on her masters and is starting her internship soon - also took an evenings/nights job so she can cover her expenses since the internship is unpaid. The times where she does have a break haven't lined up with when I could realistically take time off from work.

For me it's a means to an end. Kipping up in a hammock for 6 months doesn't sound the best, but it sounds like it would be worth it.

I'll probably do MW in a 2 day next summer, then maybe a long weekend on the LT, maybe find some others. Would really like to do Mt. Ellen as part of the LT, Okemo is a day at best (probably can do in a half day), MW, not sure what else. Maybe spend some time in the Adirondaks, will be nice to do some I know I won't be doing as part of the AT to break it up.
