29 PSI like the door jamb says, otherwise look up "Chalk Test TacomaWorld" on Google. I keep everything at 30 psi and only inflate for cold PSI. :notsure:

Depends on your tires. Higher pressure will get better MPG due to a lower rolling resistance, but it does cost you traction and a bit of bump absorption. If you are driving beefier tires that take a higher pressure and you never leave pavement, never have snow and ice, and want the MPG, a higher pressure is fine. If you off road, run rough roads, have slick traction situations to deal with, or you are close to your tires max cold PSI, you may want to drop them a bit.

Was that pic after driving and heating them up, or was that cold pressure? What is your tire rated for?

I have a brand new truck...and I pushed my tires to 36 psi...which brought them up to 37-38 when exposed to the hot summer sun and driving. The result was a terrible ride. When I got to my son's house I adjusted the tires to 35 psi (hot) and it was a very noticeable difference going home. I now keep them at 35 warm, which means in the morning they might be 33-34 cold. Too much air makes a big difference....just like too little.

Mountains out of mole hills. What tire are you running, any load in the bed, how many people? Adherents to manufacturer's recommendations like it's gospel when it reality they're just giving general guidelines are missing out on so much. The factory PSI recommendations are just that, recommendations, and for the most common scenarios and averages the truck experiences.

If you think a tire is going to start showing irregular wear because of 4psi then you have no clue how much PSI varies during operation.

People regularly drive with the wrong pressures and I would regularly have to help people right there in Baker for rollovers due to blow outs

For the love of god, can people please stop suggesting this chalk test? It is pure nonsense and provides ZERO useful data. Leave the chalk in the toy box for the kids to play with.

I go to the dealer for OEM Toyota air every fall because “peace of mind”. Plus the dealer sold me unlimited nitrogen fills when I bought my truck. Salesman tried to charge me $499 but Im no dummy.. Made them drop the price to $399 or I was going to walk out. ;)

37-38 for me. Warm from the weather, not from driving much. Chalk test shows right on at that pressure. I do have wider than stock wheels.

People really underestimate the importance of tire air rotation. You really need to rotate the air at least as often as you rotate the tires, otherwise the asymmetric wear on the tire interior and TPMS sensors can wreak havoc with the drivetrain due to harmonic imbalance, possibly voiding your warranty.

I know a guy this happened to.
