    Hey y'all,
looking for advice on how to repair my dented passenger side rocker panel. Got hung up on a rock pulling a fellow taco out and bend it pretty bad. Already took a paint pen to it so it doesn't rust but I want to pull the dent out without having to replace the whole thing. Door still opens just fine thankfully. Does need to be perfect as I'm going to blast it with raptor bedliner afterwards but I want to get rid of the dent as much as possible.
    Thanks in advance.

    Oh look, another mod....

Don't repair it. Hide the damage with a new set of sliders (you should've had a set on if you were up on a rock!).

Thats going to be a hard one to do without a body shop visit. There is no place to push from the back side to get the dent out, and its too structural to pull from the outside without welding tabs on (what a body shop will do)

If your not too concerned about how it looks, I would take a hammer and pound down the top of it so its not so close to the door, then hit it with bed liner and hope it being black hides it well.

This is what I've thought about doing. I have bedliner thats desert tan (makes pretty damn close to quicksand) and just hope it isn't too noticeable, maybe put a couple extra coats of bedliner on.

I've seen some glue-on tabs with a machine that'll pull it out but I know weld-on will be better.

I plan on selling the truck after I take care of this so I want to at least mostly fix the damage.

Its too strong of a place for the glue on ones. I have the same thing and it usually only works well on large open body panels (rood, hood, doors).

I've seen it done before but I know it takes a specific machine with glue-on/weld-on tabs

I figured the glue on would be worth a shot, otherwise its weld on tabs or just slap multiple coats of bedliner on it

Dude. Glue on tabs will pull off. With that dent, probably weld on tabs will tear the metal.
Get black, not tan bedliner and paint it. Then mount a set of sliders. THis will cost less than fixing that dent. I hated fixing those things.

Why get black and paint it rather than use tan bedliner? I was just hoping to not have to buy sliders since I plan of selling it after I fix this

You can try, but it wont do much. I went to school as a body tech and worked in the industry for a few years before moving to a new career. Weld on tabs, or a stud gun. But your going to mangle the panel pretty good and will need filler and more welding to make it right.

I just need it pulled out enough to where its not quite as bad so I can just slap bedliner on it. I might have to just take the advice of those saying to put sliders on and leave the dent.

Yeah the glue thing just doesnt have the sticking power needed to pull that out. Remember, it took the weight of the truck to make that dent, its going to take the weight of the truck to pull it back out.

Take it to a body shop tell them your plan. have them rough it out, and coat it with the bedliner or whatever your plan is. estimates are free. Ski

Very true. Stud gun or an obscene amount of bedliner it is then.

I've gone around to a few places and most won't do what I'm asking. They want to do an insurance quality job and charge thousands

That due to liability and warranty on their work. They either do it right or wont do it at all.
