AC Stops Suddenly while driving

The same year I bought the truck in 2016, I had to replace the AC since it stopped working completely (warranty). In 2021 it started going off while driving all of a sudden and I would have to turn off the AC then back on in order for it to start working. Anyone else seeing this problem ? And what would be my next step to fixing this problem now that my 2016 Tacoma does not have warranty ?

Welcome. Not familiar with this issue. Hopefully someone here chimes in with some ideas for you. The AC in my 2020 works awesome while driving. However, in really hot weather it’s just adequate when just sitting. Apparently Toyota didn’t install a fan on the Condenser under the hood. There is a TSB to fix this apparently that installs a fan that should have been there from the factory.

 

Yes, it was serviced at a Toyota Dealership in 2016 but since then I have not. In Texas we are in the 100's so you definitely feel it when it turns off. It Happens maybe once every two months.
