Has anyone used these Heavy Metal Off Road bed bars over a Softopper? Looks like the cheapest option I've seen to put a Yakima cargo box over the Softopper.

Looks good, but the HMOR bars look like the solution I'm looking for for a Yakima cargo box or canoe. I just wonder how stable they are if their only mounting is to the bed track, how stable are they? You can buy them with mounting plate brackets for a little more, and add mounting plates for considerably more, which I think would help with the stability, but by then I might as well get something like the UpTop. Like that it's aluminum.

Yes, I have it set to the lowest mounting point. It sits 3/4 of an inch above the Prinsu rack and when the tent is installed it doesn’t touch or bind while off-roading.

Would really like to add a rack and soft topper combo to my truck, but so far I haven't seen
any racks that allow the soft topper to be flipped forward and stowed on the truck with rack in place. I will probably have to make a custom rack, or go with a hard topper shell with a rack bolted to it. I would much prefer a soft topper setup though, it would be much better for me.

If you have a short bed, there are racks that you can fold down the topper with.

Those of you who did softopper and bed rack... What order did you put weather stripping? Anything below the bed rack brackets? Or bed rack brackets directly against the bed side then weatherstrip on top of that?

Bedrack first with no foam against the plastic bed rails, then the Softopper rails on top of the bed rack brackets with provided foam.

I can't decide whether its gonna be Uptop Overland, Overland X-Trusion, or a Datin Fab. Although I am leaning Datin. Seems like most stout and best bang for your buck. side panels and top cross bars included; and holds 1000 lbs static.

Anyone rocking either the Overland X-trusion, or Datin?datin1.jpg datin2.jpg datinlb.jpg

Problem: Having a hard time mounting my new Kammock Crosswing awning (t-slot nuts) to the HMO bed rack (off the rear of the truck). I can jimmyrig something with clamps, but now I am thinking about installing two t-slot long bars (front to back) on the bed rack bars. This will allow me to easily mount and remove other items as well.

    Here's what I ordered: https://amzn.to/3D36yXu

Trying to decide how I want to mount this through the HMO bars. I'm thinking I will need to drill a hole all the way through and use a bolt/nut to secure them. Any other ideas? Don't have much space underneath the bars for the bottom of the screw and nut to go before they are hitting the softoppper.

It's a 4 pack... So i think I'll use the other two pieces as crossbars for left to right if these work out.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Cross-posting this in another softopper thread.
