Everyone please remember something before making snap judgements -
    1. Well over 1M 3rd Gen Tacomas are on the road.
    2. When someone has problems, they will ask advice and tell someone.
    3. Tacoma world 3rd gen section is a small community subset of Tacoma owners.
    4. Take a look at the post count of people reporting issues. While I'm sure they have valid problems, very few who are active members here have very many issues.

So, even though we are a small community compared to the 1M others out there. What that should tell you that, while people lose engines and noises are made and other issues, it is still a tiny part of the 1M.
I feel bad for those with issues but I still feel confident that the Tacoma is still as, or more so, reliable and durable as the competition.

Of the 1M sold, 99.99% of engine failures aren’t reported on this site because the owners have never heard of this site.

Valid point, however, they will usually tell many people, especially on the internet.

    Question...
If this is true A dissatisfied customer will tell between 9-15 people about their experience. Around 13% of dissatisfied customers tell more than 20 people. – White House Office of Consumer Affairs. Happy customers who get their issue resolved tell about 4-6 people about their experience.
Then how many people post about their problems on social media?
I would think a lot of those would specifically search for Tacoma clubs and forums.

    Thoughts?

I freaking love my 3rd gen. It has been my favorite vehicle I have owned out of 12. I also had a 1st gen 22 years ago.

I’m not salty. Just playing devil’s advocate. I like the 3rd gen a lot. I drove one for a week, around town and on the freeway and it was great. I’d buy one but my 2012 runs like a top and will hopefully continue to do so for a long long time.

Let's use your stat for a minute...
There are 32 failures up in the sticky.
If that is .01%, ( your number) then that would equal 32 times 1000 which is 32,000.
32,000 divided by 1,600,000 equals two tenths of one percent....
    Can we live with that?

Man the internet has given the complainers(Karen’s,Kens) a huge voice but people who are happy/satisfied rarely speak up we just keep going about our business, and if we have an issue we try to solve it not try to find other people who will complain loudly with us.
