Hello guys, I'm about to purchase 5100 Bilsteins all around. Most of the installs and write-ups I've read are mostly on the v6/trd trucks. The majority of them set them to .85 or 1.75. I'm curious what setting will get me leveled out pretty good since the front end of the 4cyl is much lighter, resulting in more lift than expected? Any 4cyl guys input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

i have them on my 2009 reg cab 4x4. i set them at 0" and used OME lifting springs. they are the lighter lifting springs not the heavier ones used on the v6 access and double cabs. i forget the number of the springs. it was 7 years ago when i did it.

the rake went from 3" stock to about 1 1/2". looks much better. :D

you have a 2016 though so the rake on those is different from the 2nd gen trucks.

i wouldn't even mess with it on the 2016 model. just change out the shocks and set them at 0".

the 3rd gen trucks come with about 1 1/2" rake stock already. you could go .85" but no reason to really.

Yeah but even with the 1.5 inch rake, I'd like to get it leveled out completely since I will be moving up to 265/75r16. I know that tire size will fit with no problems, I'm just wanting the look.

So since the 2016 has about 1inch of lift factory due to the different coils, will setting them at .85 give me close to 2inches?

it will give you about 1" of lift over stock and it may even make the front end higher than the rear. read the toytec lift thread.

there is a lot of good info there. really a truck doesn't look good totally level. you want some rake. about 1" to 1 1/2". that's where it looks right. if you set the 5100s to .85" then you will probably need a 1/2" spacer in the rear to level it out.

Bringing this thread back to life because I'm about to do the same idea. 2018 sr5 2.7L access cab with a HiLine front bumper. I bought OEM 888 to go with the bilstien 5100's I want to put on. Now I'm thinking the OEM 888's combined with the 5100's will be way too much lift. New plan is to use stock springs with the 5100's on the 2nd or 3rd notch. Anyone else out there end up lifting their 2.7 with bilstiens?

No direct experience, but I would rather see 888's with zero clip over the 3rd notch on 5100s. The spring is actually designed for increased weight. How much does the bumper weigh ?

I don't plan on using the 888's anymore, it's too much I believe. The front bumper is probably around 50-60 pounds. I really leaning towards 2nd notch with stock springs.

I leveled out my truck with 5100’s. One notch above OEM on the drivers side and two notches above OEM on the passenger side to compensate for the Taco lean. I used the stock coils and it gave the truck a level stance.B7C637A0-93E3-4663-81DD-E4AF33860621.jpg

Definitely an improvement over stock. Better cornering and improved bump absorption.

Put 5100’s on the rear only, not lifted, and love them.
