After deciding between pouring money into my aging 4th gen 4runner or buy a used Gx460, I settled on neither and decided to get back into a tacoma. It was the end of May and I knew I needed it to arrive before I had to leave to go back college in mid-august. However, after calling around to nearly every damn dealership in Massachusetts and hearing the familiar "5-7 months, for what you want" I began to get discouraged. About a week later I actually got a phone call from a the closest dealership to me that they had one coming in mid-July that nobody had reserved, only caveat was that it was black, not lunar rock or army green like I originally wanted. Nonetheless I bit the bullet and committed to the biggest purchase of my 22 years of life.

In late July I got the phone call I had been anxiously awaiting and it was finally at the dealership, by the end of that day I had everything sorted out, I just had to head over and sign some papers and hand over the check.

Even my puppy had to have a good stare

Here is how it sat the day I got it from the dealership which proved to be no easy task given that I live on an island and ferries are almost always booked full throughout the summer, nonetheless I got it back over. It definitely helped that I've worked for the ferry company for 5 years

The team at Falmouth Toyota are just fantastic to work with and they got me in and out in under 30 minutes so I could make my ferry home. They even loaned me a temp tag because the Mass registry was down and then they mailed my plate to me a day later

The gold 1st gen is my grandfather's, it was the first Toyota I ever drove and set me up for a life long love for them

    The Plan:

My previous daily at the time was an 04 V8 Limited 4runner built out to driving on the beach and snowboarding trips up north

But I knew this time around I wanted similar but to be more methodical and not cut corners like my 18yo self seemed to constantly do when building my 4runner

By this time I already had a pile of mods sitting at home waiting to be installed which included:
New tweeters and front door speakers
    A softtopper
    A Martin offroad rack
    Summo Springs
    Phone mount
    Wiring kit for my fridge
and lots of other little things

After installing everything and I packed up to head to my mom's house for some last minute road trip prep and then out to Washington for college

The lighting was crappy on the ferry but I really like the tan soft topper with the black

Road Trip - MA to WA
First thing I did was grab some baltic birch and build a storage/sleeping platform in the back so I could secure things below it while on the drive

Nothing fancy but it got the job done

I didn't really take my photos on my way out as Ive done the drive about 8 times now and it is quite boring nowadays
    Somewhere in Idaho

And then the rolling wheat fields of eastern Washington

    Dirty truck ft. Me

Thats pretty much all for now
I'm pretty tied up with school work and such

    Future Plans:
Some local trips around the PNW
    Lift and Tires
    GFC Topper
