I just bought a 2022 tacoma TRD off road and I got some SCS Ray 10’s/ 17x8.5 -10 offset. What is the biggest size tire I can fit without rubbing on stock suspension no lift?

    Thank you for the help

Here’s a handy tool that I’ve been using to look at tire size and wheel offset comparisons. It doesn’t account for a lift but would definitely help with figuring out how a tire size will affect your proximity to your UCAs

265/70/17 did NOT fit on stock suspension with -12 offset wheels, just fyi.

Really? That’s only 1” larger than stock (265/70/16) on a TRD Off-Road. A -12 offset would push you out a little over an inch (almost an inch and a half) from factory +25 wheels.

Where did the fitment problems show up?

Yep. I got that size thinking I would be fine as everybody says it works on stock, even discount who I got the wheels and tires from said it would be fine. Didn’t realize wheels needed to be added into the equation. Reverse it rubbed horrible. Turning on any kind of decline/incline where the suspension compressed even the slightest it would rub pretty bad. Even after I put on 5100s with 885 coils it still rubbed in reverse lol.

Im likely going with 285/70/17 with a 0 offset. But I’ve also got a 3.5” lift - idk if there’s any rubbing but most of it should be able to be remedied easily.

From what I understand the cab mount “chop” is so common that it doesn’t affect Toyota’s factory warranty. Idk if anyone has experience with this though.
