KC Rally 800s Needs Wiring Harness

So I picked up a pair of KC Rally 800 Halogen lights for $60 the other day. I want to put them on my bull bar on my truck. However, they didn't come with a wiring harness. I have a cheapo Amazon one that I am thinking of using, but I don't know if it will hold up to the 130 watts each light pulls.

I guess what I'm asking is will it be ok? Or will I melt wires and light my truck on fire? KC doesn't sell the lights anymore, so I can't find a wiring harness online. I have basically no electrical experience, but I am down to try to create my own wiring harness if absolutely necessary, as long as I can get some help from ya'll. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

Update for literally no one who asked: I ordered a 260 watt wiring harness from KC. Apparently I was blind when I tried to find it online earlier.

 

damn just saw this. I just bought 3 sets of kc lights I probably won't be using the harnesses.

Another issue: I got the lights all wired up, but only one worked at first. Now when I go to turn them on, neither works. I was gonna get some replacement bulbs and see if that was the issue, but I am not sure at this point. Any advice? Thanks.

 

You need to slow down dude.
- Did you verify both lights worked before you bought them?
- Check your fuses first and then check all your connections.
- on the light that was working and doens't now pull the bulb out you should be able to verify if the filament is burnt/broken (the little wire coil inside the bulb)
- If broken, check the other light and see if it is the same case
(Also you are not suppose to touch halogen bulbs with your fingertips, the oil in your skin ruins them)
- Buy one bulb and replace and see if that fixes and last, then buy the other bulb. Try the first bulb in both housings before buying the second bulb

How long did the working bulb last for? Did it immediately burn out or last a while?

With all due respect you really wasted $60 on Halogen lights. They are a relic of the past. As someone who had halogen lights on my truck in the 80s, I can tell you, they are a huge pain the ass. They use a tremendous amount of power and have to be wired 100% correctly, i.e. correct gauge wire, relays, perfect connections. And even then they bulbs will break or burn out often.
Instead of putting any more money into your setup, You are better off getting a set of LED Ebay lights. I have used them for years with no issues, super bright, low power draw, and huge variety of sizes to fit your push bar more aesthetically

I have these on my roll bar and they are so insanely bright. THey will wash out any light bar.
