Believe it or not even I knew that it wasn't a remotely sensible thing to do.


I did however come extremely (and in retrospect, terrifyingly) close to buying a bus like the one below. A 1957 PD-4104, the finest highway bus ever built.

It was "practical" in the (warped) sense that:
1) I had the money
2) it wasn't too far away
3) I "know a guy" who could move it
4) at "only" 35 feet long and 9 feet high it would fit in the garage...

The seller however could not explain the title no matter how clearly I phrased my multiple questions so I passed.

If that isn't an example of divine intervention I don't know what is.

 

At the old job we used a lot of acetone for cleaning and noticed how well it stopped bites from itching. Soak rag or cotton ball and wipe it on, carburetor cleaner works too.

Back in August the customer ask me to remove these broken bolts and chase all the threads. Had to install 2 thread inserts, M6, which is what I checked the bolts at that I took out.

I came in this morning and my boss said he had a hot one for me, install M6 thread inserts in ALL the holes and don’t mess the finish up. Yeah, all 80 of them.

The customer says they were supposed to be 1/4-28 and we messed them all up

I told the boss I don’t feel guilty at all about this one sense I’ve worked on them before and they were M6

 

At work it was my job to help people, outside of work -- well, lets just say I'm not so obliged...

@six5crèéd I found 4 different sizes of taper lock bushing with a 1" bore. I am going to call the company and figure out the difference and let you know. Just wanted you to know I didn't forget about it.

 

I wonder if they know the company the guy works for and can go drop it off there?
