Negative! I'm right at a year after install and its doing great. No leaks. I had a couple rust spots on the awning brackets I bought separate, but the roof rack itself has been near perfect. Just make sure the front air deflector is nice and tight to the roof. I was getting a popping sound at 70+ that was driving me crazy!

    No problems with mine.

I did use some sealant on the bolts before installing them just in case.

Loving mine so far. No wind noise or vibration. Goes nicely with my RCI bed rack.

I've had mine for 5 months now. Made sure the deflector was tight to the roof, and I have 0 wind noise. No water intrusion, and I installed exactly as given in instructions.

FWIW, I ran a strip of this xpel paint pro across the roof before install to avoid damage. I'll probably reinstall every couple of years, or as needed.

Finally got around to installing mine. Great fitment, love the rubber mounting blocks. My only real complaint is the threaded holes in the 8020 bars weren't chamfered or thread chased, so I had to do it myself. Bolts wouldn't run in otherwise.

What is the smallest space between the roof and crossbars (center of truck)? Is there any chance of the crossbars contacting the roof with a load on?

I'm at work so I cant measure mine right now. However, if you have a load on the rack that is heavy enough to bend those extruded aluminum cross bars, the bar contacting your roof is the least of your concerns, lol. They are very stout.

I have a double kayak cradle that clamps to the crossbars instead of using the t-slots. Hoping there’s enough space between the roof and crossbars to mount it in the center of the roof. I don’t plan on having much more than 100 lbs on the rack. If there is any risk of the crossbars or clamps contacting the roof, I will put some paint protector on the roof.

There should be room to get to the knobs that tighten them down, you just might have to trim your hardware if its too long to begin with. I use two sets of Yakima Jaylow's for our kayaks when we are towing the camper, but they clamp to the front and back sides of the crossbars, not the top and bottom.

Took advantage of the 20% off pre-Black Friday sale. Install was easy even by myself. Couldn’t be happier with the look and performance! My kit was missing the 5/16 washers for the mounting bracket carriage bolts, but nothing my stash of miscellaneous washers couldn’t handle. I’m not always brand loyal, but these folks have and will continue to get my business. I have the RCI full skid package and not a single complaint about any of their stuff… great fit and quality!

Drove 130 miles of interstate and very little wind noise, even at 75mph! This was maybe my biggest concern in getting a roof rack. I get a little whistling noise in crosswinds but that’s with me trying to find a noise with no radio and it’s barely discernible. My dogs breathing in the back was louder. MPG was about .3 less than usual (I do this drive a lot) but it’s also unseasonably warm today so that surely needs to accounted for. I followed the directions and slammed the front fairing down to the roof against the rubber weatherstripping. As far as I’m concerned the difference in mpg is negligible. Super pumped. It looks amazing, aggressive, and fills out the shape of the cab. Not to mention I can put my kayaks and storage boxes up there now

the washers that are supposed to come with it have the rubber coating on one side. I would call or email RCI and make sure you get a set so you can maintain the weather sealing

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Hey @RCI-Offroad, did you ever make the access cab version? Not seeing it on the website.

I had the neoprene washers that attach the mounts to the rubber feet, but the stainless 5/16 flat washers (item 7) that attach the carriage bolts to the rack behind the nyloc nuts were missing. Wasn't a big deal at all! Out of everything that could have been left out, that was the easiest to deal with.

Hello, can anyone tell me the measurement from the center of the roof to the top of the rack. I built a wedge camper with an overhang and want to know if it will clear. Thanks

button head bolt with washers stacked up between the light bracket and the roof rack to bring it down to the proper height. you can see the button head peeking up on top of the rack in the first picture. getting a spacer of the proper size is on my to do list, but the washers are fine for now so I'm not in a rush.

*edit*I actually found a picture from the back side. It’s not pretty though, lol
