I’ve had my ELP now for 3 months, logged 3125 miles (600 from the Las Vegas NV dealership to Albuquerque) and loved every minute behind the wheel. I thoroughly enjoy that giddy feeling when you see your ELP. I receive compliments every time I’m in town – at the gas pump, parking lots and car wash. I’ve walked out and found men and women taking pictures or doing a walk around, I’ve been inside stores and had other women talk to me about a lime truck outside and I say ‘yeah it’s mine’. I’ve had other Tacos & a 4Runner follow me and when I pull into a parking space they do a slow drive by (this has happened 3 times and it freaks me out). Toyota sent me the email last week asking about my experience, likes, dislikes and I thought this would be a good opportunity to share some things.

My least favorite thing: how the auto transmission goes on a scavenger hunt for the right gear when pulling a hill on interstate driving. I drove a manual for the prior 13 years and wanted an auto. I’ve found that setting cruise at 70-72 mph helps.

Improvements needed 1) vented front seats. Triple digits in Albuquerque summer and I don’t want to get monkey butt from booty sweat. 2) Get rid of hood prop rod and install hood struts. This is not 1990. 3) Folding mirrors would be nice.

My Amazon links below begin with “smile” because smile.Amazon.com is the amazon website where they donate a portion to a charity. It’s free, and I choose to donate to DV Farm which helps disabled veterans.

    Some additions I’ve made:

Paint Protection film *Hood, door cups, and mirror backs were installed at port. I installed headlight ppf, lower bumper and upper bumper. It’s hard to see, but it’s there and went on nicely. Headlights don’t cover the entire headlight, so I’m not thrilled. Plus I have some imperfections and may just remove them.

This is awesome - yeah despite the vociferous haters this color is peacock baller badass. I plan to get a tune after break-in to eliminate the gear hunting nonsense.

I'd highly consider removing that port installed PPF, it is garbage, it will yellow and discolor (been there done that, even when ceramic coated and maintained) as its the older PPF tech. I had my guy remove it and installed quality PPF with a 10 year warranty (STEK). Would just hate for you to put in the work installing your own and maintaining only for the port stuff to look like trash down the road.

Agree did the same. Would recommend the Charvonia design bed tie downs and rail tie downs I got two sets of the rail and one set of the bed toe downs look awesome especially in the red. Pricey but well worth it after you just dropped 50k plus I believe you can try thebigmoco5 for a discount. https://billettiedowns.com/

Do the vent rings sit on top of the chrome or replace the chrome? And did you consider the lime green rings lol

    Loving this thing
    Traded in a Miata
And getting rid of my GMC Sierra
    It’s the perfect compromise
    Manual transmission
    Smaller
Seating feels like a sports car
I love all the things people complain about like the seating position and the old technology
But I think I’m an old soul
My shotgun is an over and under
I love the old Fi40s but they’re not safe
And this lime green color is great

Agreed. Truck feels solid. And I love the heavy-ish steering. Feels very trucky. And the dampening is great.
