I couldn't find a write up for removing the rear backrest and trim pieces. If you remove these pieces you can easily get to the bolts that actually hold the folding seats in, *I didn't take my seats out* just figured this is the starting point. :duh:

I started by pulling the backrest, hoping it was just held in by clips but that is not the case. I heard fabric tearing and the wood back splitting, so I stopped, did a few searches here and youtube but a no go.
So here is what I did to get the trim and backrest off. quite simple

In the back I started with the lower trim piece, just above the folding drop down seat.
From one of the sides using a large flat head screw driver, or a small pry bar, work your way popping the clips off, it kinda gets hung up on the back rest but it bends enough to get it out... could probably start with the top trim piece but oh well :lalala:

Then I started on the top trim piece just above the backrest.

should go a little slower then I did, I got a bend crack in the middle of my top trim piece .

after getting the top trim piece off, I realize why pulling on the backrest was a BAD idea, its bolted in quite nicely by 3 - 12mm bolts AND 2 slots at the bottom. :redxfall:

after getting the pieces off I took advantage and cleaned up the 23 year old grim back there.

And here is the reason I wanted to pull the trim and back rest off. I got the idea from a few members here.
